Erased recordings

All of my recordings, except one, have been erased.   I didn't have a lot of them, so it can't be a space issue.  Can I get them back?

This issue has been reported for years.  No explanation and you cannot retrieve deleted recordings.

You can try a reboot of the DVR but I would not expect that to work.

A DVR was never meant to be a long term storage of recordings.  Recordings will also be lost if you replace the DVR.  If it's network programs, look for the shows on streaming services like HBOMax.

One additional point to what @skeeterintexas said, and that is the recording details are stored on Att servers whereas the actual recording is kept on the DVRs local harddrive.   I might go so far as to force a non destructive factory reset to see if that doesn’t clear things up.   Also, a mobile device can be used as a tool as another means to see recordings details.

We're here to help clarify about your recordings, jc1638!

The information our ACEs sent is accurate regarding what you are experiencing.

The only other additional troubleshooting we would suggest is the following:

  • Restart your U-verse TV receiver (DVR) by holding down the POWER button for 5 seconds, then press it again to restart. (This takes 5-8 minutes and impacts any DVR recordings in progress.)

  • Press the Recorded TV button on your remote if your recorded program is frozen or missing.

Let us know if this helps!

I tried the reboot and virtually everything is still gone.    Also checked my phone ap and it too does not show the missing recordings.

I am just hoping that the movie I most wanted is shown again because this recording had a song that usually is cut when the movie is shown.

I live in Ohio and this has started happening to me on recordings that were on there for a while and ones I recently recorded this is not a space issue I have not exceeded the capacity either before or especially now that most of them have been erased. If this has been a known issue for a couple years why is it still happening. I have rebooted everything and it's still happening as recently as yesterday.
