Extreme weather warnings, repeating over and over and far too loud

I get it, there's a hurricane blowing through.  I do NOT need to be reminded of this every 5 minutes while trying to watch tv.  Yes, the roads are flooding, that's why I'm at home watching tv instead of driving around looking at things.  In the last hour there have been at least 6 of these stupid things, all way louder than they need to be.  Then, my cell phone goes off, because those people think I'm totally unaware of my surroundings too.  Oops, another one just went off.  Then, the other two cell phones get the same warning, but at different times.

AT&T seems to think they need to blast me out of a sound sleep at 3am to tell me I shouldn't be out driving. Well, I wasn't, I was sleeping.  Now I'm not.  I would opt out of these things if there was a way to do it.  They never tell me anything useful.  Can I?

You may be at home and have your tv on, but others may not be home as yet or have the tv on or are are under a rock some place.  ATT has no way of knowing so they repeat the warnings to try to catch as many people as possible that might eventually turn their tv's on.  Maybe this is a required by the pertinent agencies along with making sure you hear it when it is on although I am not sure of that.

Just hit the exit button as soon as the warning comes up to abort it.
