Fox Sports 1

My family decided to buy cable solely because of the lack of live sports on network television. ATT U-Verse needs to address this 'dispute' with Fox Sports 1. When U-Verse claims to offer FS1, yet does not air US mens and womens national team soccer games, nascar, and MLS matches it is simply ridiculous!

Fox wants more money than the current negotiations call for and ATT is balking.  Therefore, some things are not being broadcast live,

Both men's and womens USA soccer matches are shown a day later, usually on FS2. 😉

Edit:  Also only affects Nascar Infinity Series;  Sprint Cup and Camping World will be shown on FS1.

Imagine if you were paying rent. You always pay on time, your check never bounces and you tell your landlord of any issues that need fixed such as leaky faucets or loud hinges.

Well, imagine your landlord has the outside of the house painted and the driveway paved. One day, you get a notice, that because of the improvements made, your rent is going up. Yes, you have a three-year lease with an agreed-upon rent, but that doesn't matter in the eyes of your landlord. He wants more money now.

AT&T is the tenant. Fox is the landlord. For whatever unknown reason, they cannot wait for the contract to be up. They need more money, and they need it now, dadgummit!

I'm sorry, but the "later today" thing just doesn't cut it.  I'm paying for a service that I'm not getting.  It needs to be fixed NOW.  Either the bill should get adjusted downward or start showing the complete programming that I am paying for.  It's that simple.

You have the right to complain here about what is going on with FS1 but I hope you are also complaining to Fox for not sending the programming to UVerse.

I agree to an extent, and I have complained to Fox Sports 1 as well.  The difference is that I have an agreement with AT&T.  Unfortunately, I have no such agreement with Fox Sports 1.

Then that agreement w/ATT is fulfilled as you are getting the FS1 feed being provided to ATT. 😉

Other providers have gotten it done, AT&T has not.

Honestly, other members of my household have been trying to get me to switch our provider for months, but I have been the lone holdout.  These types of answers, whether technically accurate or not, are a better argument to switch than any they have made.

Below is what I was informed by FoxSports1 team.  I am also very frustrated with Uverse and what they are offering on FoxSports 1.  You would think they would cater to popular demand.

Fran Gravelle - Frustrated user of Uverse in Dayton OH

My name is Daniel with the FOXSports.com Customer Support Team. AT&T U-Verse has chosen not to carry select programming on Fox Sports 1. Call AT&T and tell them you don't want to miss any Fox Sports 1 programming.

Thank you for visiting FOXSports.com.

Regards,
Daniel

Daniel from Fox Sports has twisted the actual reality. AT&T U-verse did not choose to not carry selected programming on Fox Sports 1. U-verse is forced to show what Fox Sports provides (dart tournaments),

Fox Sports is not abiding by a previously signed valid contract that it signed with AT&T, and because AT&T refuses to send Fox Sports more money in the middle of a contract, Fox Sports took their Xfinity, soccer, etc home, and will only allow U-verse to show dart tournaments.

Please place the blame where it belongs, with Fox Sports.

And no, I am not an employee of AT&T.

If Daniel were interested in speaking the truth (and getting fired in the process), he would have said:

We're still sending AT&T U-verse what we both agreed was FS1.  But we decided to make a new product, charge more for it, call it the same thing, advertise it as the same thing, list it in the channel guides as the same thing, but charge more for it.  Many providers have gone along with this shell game, but for some reason AT&T wasn't fooled.  So, please go blame them for our trick.

You're more than welcome to call the retentions department and ask for any discounts or rebates they have. I've seen the following: Free HBO/Cinemax for three months, $30 off your core TV package, $15-$20 off your internet package, free "movie pack" for one month, free "sports pack" for one month, free HD Premium Tier for one month, free Fox Soccer Plus for one month, free Spanish-language package for one month, etc.

Keep in mind that you need to keep the free programming for the entire term. Likewise, with the $30 off my core TV package, I'm in a contract, so if I cancel, I have to pay a termination fee (similar to cell phones.)

Completely agree. The blame is entirely with FS1 for wanting to charge more during the carriage agreement.

CBS adds new shows every fall, right? I'm sure ESPN changes their content on a regular basis...if Stephen A. Smith or Brent Musberger gets a pay raise, those things also lead to higher expenses on ESPN's part, right? But...answer me this, someone. Have ESPN or CBS ever gone to the providers in the middle of a long-term carriage agreement to ask for more money, or do they wait until the carriage agreement ends?

Why cannot FOX play like everyone else and wait until the carriage agreement is about to expire? Waiting is the only reasonable answer. In essence, Fox killed off three channels (Fox Soccer, Speed and Fuel) and started three others (FXX, FS1, FS2), but only are playing this nasty game with one channel.

This is not okay! I pay quite a bit extra just to be able to have soccer matches through the additional sports packages. Don't keep the channel but prevent us from watching live, accurate programming. Get rid of it or pay up (preferably the latter) because I can't have a provider that doesn't have Fox Soccer coverage. The Women's World Cup, a once every 4 years tournament the U.S. can actually win, is next month and I refuse to miss it because ATT is being cheap. This will be a deal breaker for me and I am a lovely almost $200/month single person.
