Free Pay TV Weekend
I'm a long time subscriber of your U-Verse service and really enjoy it. I've noticed during your offering of Free Pay TV on selected weekends, you chose to show OLD movies. Some are good and other are not so good but it would be nice to see a movie that's not 25 years old. Most, if not all, can be rented at Red Box. Why would I, or anyone else, pay money to watch OLD movies at your prices when they can rent recent movies for $1? Programming on these pay channels is not worth the asking price. I wouldn't pay that kind of money to watch Downton Abby even if I was hooked on it. HBO, Showtime, Cinamax, Starz all show the same old movies, but at different times. What's the end game? The monthly rate is not worth what you're providing. It's sad for all those who are hooked, thinking they're getting something really great when all they're really getting is old movies they can rent for $1 at Red Box, not to mention the fact they can also rent more recent movies for the same price.

When you say "pay TV" are you talking about HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, etc.? Those are generally referred to as "Premium Channels".
That being said, all channels (network, cable or premium) choose what programming to offer and when. If you have a problem with what is offered during a Free Preview Weekend, you would need to let the individual network know that. AT&T has no control over content.

It's always been my opinion that networks like HBO, SHO, etc. know when cable companies are going to have free promo periods and deliberately schedule older movies. I used to watch some of the stuff during these free offerings but I noticed that not only do they repeat a lot of movies (but they do that anyhow) I saw scheduled movies from one promo period still being offered during next promo period! And those things are spread out months apart.
I don't think looking at these channels during a promo for their movies is worth the effort. On the other hand their series are another story and I think they are really trying to bait you in with those series. For example, Homeland on SHO, Westworld on HBO (returns after 2 years tonight by the way).
