FS-1 - program changes
All set to watch USA-Switzerland Soccer and I GET SWITCHED TO WORLD DARTS!!!! YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING. IS THIS GOING TO BE ONGOING. A GOOD REASON TO LEAVE AT&T U-VERSE. I enjoy soccer immensely and certainly feel that others feel the same way. This is Fox Sports -- not bar room games!!!!

Actually, in a way, in this case, it does - there are a number of other threads (click here and here for examples) concerning the problems between AT&T and Fox Sports 1 concerning certain programs (NASCAR Xfinity Series races, Team USA and (at least some) MLS soccer matches, USGA golf events, and it may extend to Big East football games if this lasts until September). It has something to do with Fox increasing the fees for these particular events and AT&T sticking to the pre-agreed contract.

No, AT&T in no way controls content. Fox has total control over what content is shown on it's networks. The reason customers are seeing darts it because that's what Fox is sending to AT&T.
There can be debate over whether AT&T should do something to get Fox to send different programming or who is in the right or wrong, but one thing is certain: Fox is 100% in control over what content is shown on their channels.

That's what I meant by "in a way" - AT&T can "control" it in that it can do something about it.
Actually, you bring up an interesting question: who does the actual blacking out of out-of-area NBA and NHL games on the RSNs? Does each RSN have two separate feeds (one with the game, for the addresses in the team's viewing area, and one without the game, for the rest of the country), or is there just one feed and it's up to AT&T to black out the game in the appropriate locations?

I have to agree with That Don Guy - AT&T has at least some impact on what programming FS1 sends. If they pay up, subscribers will get NASCAR Xfiniti, Soccer, and so on and not Darts. It is kind of which came first, the chicken or the egg. Sticking to AT&T's Guns too long could create another Hallmark situation where there are few winners.

I don't think there's two seperate feeds unless you live in an area where there can be seperate feeds such as Ohio which has the "main" FS Ohio coming out of Cleveland and a "subfeed" from Cincinnati which shows Reds and Columbus hockey games.
FS Cleveland shows all Cavs games and most Columbus Bluejacket games when they don't interfere with Cavs games. (They won't even join NHL games in progress.)
FS Cincinnati shows all Reds games and most CBJ games when they don't interfere.
In cases where all three teams are on at the same time, U-Verse puts one game on the 1690 range...probably in most cases, the hockey game, but that doesn't really matter.
I know other areas of the country have similar subfeed situations.
Anyway, as far as blackouts go, someone, somewhere hits a button (ok, probably a computer program) that puts a black screen on various TVs around the country. I know that sometimes in extremely rare cases, this fails to happen and you'll be able to see a random out-of-market game. For a short while (maybe a month), I was able to watch Minnesota Wild games on FS North in Ohio. I even checked Google to make sure the game was live.
