Hallmark channel - a compromise for customers?

If U-verse can't reach an agreement to have the Hallmark Channel as part of their normal lineup, why can't we have it for an option as a PAY channel, like HBO? I will bet that if it was offered that way, for say $3.95 per month or something like that, you'd get a lot of subscribers and make a lot of people really happy. Please bring it back - it's such a good channel.

Customers prefe a-la-carte offerings, so they pay for only those services (or channels) they use. The provider however is pushing the "bundle" which is marketed as a great deal (look at all the stuff you get for one low price!) to get us to pay more for stuff that we will never use (or watch). Changes are considered only if they increase profit and market share.

It's not as easy as that.  I am assuming that one of the problems is, Hallmark wants it on a particular tier (say, U200), because it charges its fee based on how many people can access it - not how many will actually wath it.  If this were to switch to a PPV/On Demand-style network, then Hallmark would almost certainly want far more than $3.95/month for it to make the money that it would make if it was on U-200.

No way do I want to pay extra for the Hallmark channel!   I just switched over from WOW, and they had it, and Comcast has it!   ATT asked me what my favorite channels were, and Hallmark is No. one!!!!   I never would have switched to ATT if I had known all this!

I don't get it. Why do so many people love Hallmark so much that they can't live without it? I was watching it on Comcast in Colorado and it was a bunch of Christmas movies IN JULY.

Simply put, "One Man's trash is another man's treasure!"  Naturally, as humans, we have different tastes.  If you don't like Hallmark, that's your perogative, I have no problem with that.  Those of us who like it, should be treated in the same manner.
