I am losing WMYA

I am very angry.  It is scrolling on my TV screen that I will lose one of my favorite local channels on December 1.  I called the station and they told me to switch providers because the station might very well be gone permanently from UVerse.  They have already granted UVerse several extentions and the negotiations are still extremely far apart.  I cannot get WMYA well with an antenna.  It is pixelated.  The station is located 60 miles away from me in the mountains.  So I have called DISH Network and they will be here December 2.  Good bye UVerse.  It was fun while it lasted but you've failed me.

i just want someone from AT&T to stop being a coward, man up, and tell me what customers like me did to deserve this.

So once again I ask wha I did o deserve this, as that question still hasn't been answered.  I called AT&T today and asked about losing my locals.  He told me that I would not lose me locals as they were included in the price I paid every month for U450.  I then asked him  when then is WMYA scrolling a notice that it's going away on U-Verse and he said "I don't know".  COWARD!  If the price of locals is included in what I pay, then I guess I should expect a rate decrease when they no longer offer all my locals?

".....if a reasonable agreement cannot be reached with the programmer the programming will no longer be available."

It's not personal.  It's business.

If it's causing you that much stress, get an OTA antenna.  I'm sure that's not the answer you want but it's the only solution at this time.

But don't I deserve a lower price?  THAT'S business.  And don't I have the right to ditch AT&T and go back to DISH?  THAT'S business too.  After all, WMYA already told me they don't anticipate an agreement ever being made, at least not for a long time, so I should switch providers now.

I already told you I can't get WMYA with an antenna that well.  It's 60 miles away and up in the mountains and it pixelates.  So an antenna is not a solution; I already have one.  But switching to DISH sure is.

Personal insults are uncalled for.

It is what it is.  You can change provider but bear in mind that if you are under contract, you will be assessed an ETF.

But I am not under contract anyway as I have been with UVerse since 2011.  So bye-bye!  Too bad it had to end like this!  I will also be dropping U-Verse Voice and switching to Charter internet soon as well.  Of course AT&T can avoid losing me by getting their act together in the next couple of days and accepting a deal from WMYA...I am a fair man.  Unlike AT&T.  It's not fair for them to try and deny me this channel!  IT'S NOT FAIR!!!  Sometimes I just HATE my life!

What is going to happen when Charter has a contract problem with a particular channel when that contract is up? This happens with all television providers.

Good luck with your next provider after Charter when they have a contract dispute, and a channel is dropped.

Regarding a lower rate, you can call and ask for retentions. I've heard the current offer is about $15 off per service for a few months, but you may be able to get a better deal, being a long-term customer. I signed up with AT&T in 2008. I get three STBs for free, pay nothing for my HD services and get discounts on internet and TV.

If they offer you a free trial of HBO or similar, it is up to you to cancel on the last day without being charged. They will not remind you to cancel.

I called AT&T retention yesterday. They are offering nothing for me for U-verse television at this time. I did get something off of my internet. The representative told me to call back after January 20, 2017 as he thought there may be some television discounts at that time.

Amazingly enough, WMYA did not go dark.  Either they stuck a last minute deal or AT&T was granted another extention.
