Losing local TV channels as of tomorrow

If I lose my local TV channels as of 5pm tomorrow, you will lose my business...

@IrisDEW, you will, at most, lose the local market channel owned by Tribune Broadcasting.  I hope that you've also informed them that you will no longer watch their station as well for not reaching an agreement with AT&T U-verse.

When renewing my contract with AT&T for the next year (last month) I was told my rates had gone up $45/month even though my services didn't change because that was the new competitive rate... If I'm going to pay a higher rate, I have the right to expect competitive channels as well.

If your services went up $45 last month, then that was because your account had a promotional rate that expired last month, not because of increased costs of services.

AT&T raises rates once per year in February/March.

That's correct, my promotional offer ended... And the reason they told me they couldn't give me another one was because they were being competitive with the other companies in my area.

For me, that would be WITI (Fox)

I can easilly take a UHF antenna, stick it in a window and switch from HDMI1 to 6.1 if I want to watch WITI. There's also the bonus of Antenna TV on 6.2.

Plus there's Fox Chicago (WFLD) and WGN and Antenna TV Chicago.

U-Verse should drop all locals or package them in a seperate package for people that want them like DirecTV did when they first added locals. Kinda like how there is a seperate Sports package.

Most areas do not technically NEED U-Verse to watch local TV stations, nor do they need to pay more to watch them. At least until the possible spectrum auction next year.

I was informed that I would be loosing my local channel 4 KFOR in Oklahoma City.  I hope this is not true as some of my favorite TV content is broadcast by NBC.  I have called the television station and I want to report it here as well.  NBC broadcasts some great content and I don't want to miss out.

AT&T will loose many clients in INDY we have two local channels that will be lost if they do not come to an agreement. Both channels is where they air football and Baseball. It iwll be a breach of contract on AT&T's part and we will use it to move to COMCAST.

Sorry, no list of channels is guaranteed in the contract.

Most of Chicago sports (blackhawks, bulls, sox/cubs) air on WGN. Att will lose so many customers in the Chicagoland area if they drop this channel. ComCast will be pretty busy! Att will regret this move.

ATT Uverse is not dropping anything, every one like this is negotiated in the end and no channels lost. 😉

Add me to the list of people that will be shopping for cable if channels are dropped.  I'm in the KC area.  I know people keep saying that it won't happen, and it doesn't happen.  However, it can and has.  When I switched to this company, I was told I'd get more games.  I was so happy.  Now I could lose them.  Not cool.
