LOT8's...

Wonder whatever happened with that anyways..  Used to be a popular topic around here, and now I never see so much as a whisper about it.  Pretty sure that there are still people who want it though, right?

He's usually on later now (for us since he's now in MST).

One intellistar per VRAD?  Sounds expensive.

No, it's per Video Hub Office (VHO). That's the builiding that all the VRADs connect to in a given area.

He specifically told me that they were having to put these in various "VRAD cabinets" due to the various part of town and reporting stations as well....

Maybe someone can explain the last paragraph here?  Thought I'd go for another take besides wikipedia, but the article is talking about the competition.

The paragraph is saying that the newest Stars use regular PC hardware.  The previous versions were purpose made computers using proprietary hardware (SGI = Silicon Graphics Inc)

But that wouldn't be something that fits into a VRAD?

I saw a computer while visiting my grandmother in the hospital today that was so small but it was a full computer.....so not ruling it out at all though.

The new Stars are supposed to be rack mounted server types of computers.  No clue what kind of room there is in a VRAD

Think about Comcast though, every area would have the closest observation pointed to your area when you had their service though or any cable company to be exact really.

They must be using loads of Stars as well too then.
