ME TV and Antenna TV
I live in Huntsville, AL and currently have U-verse and would like to keep it but I'm considering changing to Comcast because I can't get ME TV and Antenna TV.
ME TV is carried over the air on a sub-channel of FOX (WZDX ME TV) and Antenna TV is carried over the air on a sub-channel of CBS (WHNT 2).
These channels are carried by Comcast and WOW Cable so why can't these channels be added to the U-verse line-up?

Since the channels are carried over the air, you can get both channels with an OTA antenna for free, as opposed to getting them through a TV provider.

Have you checked for 136, Me TV national feed, in many markets, even if local Me TV is on subchannel. Similar shows on FETV 578 and Fam Net 566.

I have been waiting for this to happen in my aera as well. I have an OTA but it sucks trying to switch back and forth. Plus, it will be awesome to be able dvr shows I want to watch when I'm at work or out. It looks like Uverse will never be getting these channels though.

Isn't it on channel 372? (Assuming you're talking about "We TV" and not "ME TV"; ME TV is a subchannel of KCRA, and U-Verse refuses to carry those except in the rare cases where it is a major network's main channel.)

Hi @sissy2929. Not carrying the Digital TV Sub Channels is a business decision that AT&T made years ago. U-verse's IPTV is a bit different than cable. Each channel, such as 12.2, requires additional equipment over all of U-verse's footprint. AT&T may be forced to carry them sooner rather then later, as the FCC is encouraging over the air (OTA) broadcasters to vacate space above RF channel 31. This may force some stations to share and airspace and AT&T may have to rethink this process.
The biggest issue with simply connecting an antenna is that you can't record or time shift these sub-channels. Silicon Dust makes OTA tuners with DVR's. The big "if" will be when/if ATSC 3.0 hits, all of the tuners and such will be obsolete, again just like when analog went away in 2008. Sigh.
