NFL Network & RedZone are gone

Can anyone, preferably from AT&T, tell me if NFL Network & RedZone are no longer being carried on U-verse? At 4:15pm today I tried to go to channels 1629 & 1630, but what I saw was a message saying “This channel is no longer carried” and there was a reference to TVpromise.org. First time I’ve ever seen that message. To me, that isn’t just that the NFL Network is offline with broadcast issues. It’s that U-verse has dropped those two channels. Anyone else have this issue or heard anything about it?

Re: NFL Network
Holy cow... So guess what Uverse has done now? 1630 used to be NFL
Network...now they have changed it to be a second channel number for ESPN!!
I guess they think we won't look for it? Out of sight, out of kind? We will
forget? Or it's never coming back?

They treat their customers like fools. You can still tune on 1630 and watch the draft. Pathetic.

I noticed that, too.  We've already got ESPN on 1602.  What's the point of having a duplicate ESPN on 1630?  It doesn't placate me in the least.  If anything, it just made me angrier that they'd think this move would somehow be good enough.  It isn't!  And it'll NEVER be good enough until they bring back the NFL Network.

AT&T is clueless. They are doing irreparable harm to their reputation. The decision makers are losing their shareholders a lot of money.

It is hilarious. Look...there's the NFL Draft on 1630, just where we promised it would be. What could you possibly be complaining about?

AT&T doesn't care at all. They know they will lose a certain number of subscribers. But they budgeted for that during the decision process to dump NFL Network and decided it was more than worth it. Now they just want to wade through this noisy period surrounding the draft. Then they figure it will settle down, and they can go back to their next corporate scheme centered on profit alone. Fairly soon another network will be dropped, and they'll send the shill administrators in here to "regret any inconvenience."

It reminds me of Ralph Nader's great book "Unsafe at any speed" from the '60s. Nader discovered internal memos from the major auto manufacturers that indicated they knew the vehicle designs -- like poorly positioned gas tanks -- were unsafe and would lead to fatalities. But instead of fixing the problem and preventing the fatalities, the auto manufacturers simply estimated how much each lawsuit would cost them per fatality, compared to how much it would cost to redesign the vehicle. They realized it was cheaper to continue to roll out the unsafe vehicles and deal with the aftermath.

I don't mind comparing AT&T to that. Their product isn't the same but the mindset is the same. If losing NFL Network were known to cause health problems it's not as if those AT&T executives would be saying..."guys, we can't do this to our customers."

They wouldn't blink an eye

Yes, blocked on uverse!  Go to the start times for all days of the draft on all three channels and you will see a dark screen with a blue star in the lower left-hand corner of your television screen, although the title of the draft is in the channel guide.  When I went to programs on all three channels that are aired both before the draft and after the draft, the typical picture of the title of the program appears in the lower left-hand corner of the screen.  Kind of hard to explain.  I have been on the phone with uverse for almost 1 1/2 hours discussing this problem and still am.  I am on hold right now.

We understand NFL Network and Red Zone are important to you. While they remain available on DIRECTV, we could not reach an agreement with the NFL to continue to carry these channels on U-verse and DIRECTV NOW.

Sorry but due to the losses if millions of customers we have to let you go. Sorry for the inconvenience.

AT&T, meanwhile, fell more than 4% after posting first-quarter revenue numbers that disappointed investors. The company's revenue was dragged down by weak sales in its WarnerMedia division.
