no solution for tv freezing

i'm at my wits end.  for two months all four tvs experience short but frequent freezing. i've had two receivers and the modem replaced. yesterday a tech replaced some kind of connection that went into a box hardwired into the wall near the modem, but it didn't fix the problem. today i called and was told there was nothing else they could do. the test he ran showed no problems at that moment ( the freezing is sporadic and short) and that he could not send a tech out. i asked if he had ANY solution to get my tv working properly and he said no. so i am stuck with tvs that freeze? i have a hard time believing a company as big as ATT is incapable of providing freeze free pictures especially since this started about two months ago. i've often had issues with service over the past ten years, but freezing is new. he said there was no other level of support when i asked if i could speak with someone who might have more experience or more tools. i feel like i'm being ripped off every month and there's nothing i can do but change providers.  any insight on how to address this problem would be appreciated. thank you

Well it looks like my long saga is over. Got a new DVR and after 3 resets it finally started working only to freeze after  a few seconds.  So I got my big hammer and placed next to the DVR and said "better start working"  I decided to reset everything one last time, since I had just reset the DVR I reset the gateway and after it came back up everything worked!

Thanks every one for the hints and patience

Also at wits end here, with uverse channels freezing periodically  I have simple system; 1 TV, a fiber router BGW320-500, VIP2262 settop-box, and am trying to use extender (Airties 4920(from Amazon) or 4921(official hardware from ATT)).  It is a long 3 week story so far, I don't have time to give full story, but latest set up is brand new router installed by ATT, and also a new VIP they sent (unnecessarily).  In wired mode (ethernet cable from BGW320 to VIP2262), the uverse channels are now fine (no freezing, currently).  In 'wireless mode' (BGW --wireless --extender --ethernet--VIP), there is freezing issue.  With unofficial extender 4920 (or other even cheaper one), I get recuring freezing every 2-4minutes (and it take about 30sec+ to recover), once it is frozen (although switching channels recovers it immediately, oddly).  HOWEVER, with official ATT Airties 4921, it freezes every 0-10seconds!, or worse, ie often even cannot sustain a signal at all.   So 4921 somehow much worse than my cheaper 3rd party extenders.   Router to extender distance is only 30feet, with one intervening exterior wall (drywall+half inch plywood) and one large double pain glass window (.25" glass x 2).  In addition, for streamed service (ie netflix etc) there is not signal problem at all, and I am connecting that via wifi to the same BGW  router.  I've swapped out cables and TV and VIP, it is not any of these. Please anyone advise.

Sorry - the 4921 is not correct model.  The hardware ATT sent me is 4971 extender.

You should be using a WAP device such as a VAP2500 to deliver a wireless signal to the settop box, which Att should have installed.
