No sound when viewing Uverse.com streams with Firefox.
When I try to watch live streams on Uverse.com using Firefox I can't get sound on any channel I try. I'm on my laptop using Win 8 and Firefox version 36.0 but it hasn't worked on previous versions of FF either.

Something wrong on your end as I had no problems on FF 35, 35.01, 36. Somehow it's muted when you play them, either there or on your computer.

I know it's something on my end. The volume on my computer isn't muted and the volume for whatever channel I choose isn't muted either. The site works in Chrome, Opera and IE. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled FF more then once. I'm at a loss of what to try next so that's what led me to finally starting a thread here to try and get help on what else I could do to attempt to resolve this issue.

Only thing I can give is this website:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/what-to-do-if-firefox-wont-play-any-sounds
See if this can help. 😉

Thanks.

It was the regular volume control not controlling the volume for Firefox on my end. Once I opened up the mixer I was able to fix things. I feel a bit like a dolt now because I should have thought of doing that before reinstalling and etc. Oh well at least the issue is resolved now and if anyone else runs into this an answer will come up when they search.

Glad you got it working again!
Another thing for the future is to try something like a CD or an mp3 or even something like YouTube in a different browser. There's lots of things to try in order to triangulate an issue.
There's also a forum at forums.mozillazine.org that can help with Fx issues.

I know about the other forum and sound was working fine for everything else except Uverse.com when using FF. I'm not a regular FF user but sometimes use it to watch HGTV on online but even then that channel doesn't work right on Uverse's site. It's so weird because that's the only channel I have issues with on the site. That's for another thread though and I've posted about it here previously. Will slink off to the mozilla forum next time though as not to bother anyone here again.

You're fine to stay here. Obviously, I was unaware if you were aware of the other forum.

I took your post the wrong way and I apologize. I started using Firefox when it was Firebird because I was so annoyed with IE so I know about computers. I just had a moment of stupidness when not thinking to check the volume mixer so I could make sure the volume for all devices when I was trying to use Firefox to view the streams on Uverse.com.
I wanted to say brain *** above but word I censored isn't allowed appartently which made me laugh.
