I have been watching POP and Hallmark channel up north for the past two weeks. Why doesn't ATT carry those channels? It looks like other customers have also requested them!
POP TV used to be TVGN, before that TV Guide Network, and before that Electronic Program Guide. In short, it started off as a channel to give you a list of channels and programs... a feature built in to modern digital set tops such as those used by U-verse.
The owners of the channel have long seen the writing on the wall and have slowly transitioned the channel to other things. It may get included in the next negotation between AT&T and CBS, since CBS has tried to get more viewers and get carriage by doing such things as moving the Big Brother After Dark programming to it from Showtime.
Hallmark was dropped because Crown Media asked for a big increase in rates for carriage at the end of their last carriage agreement with AT&T. AT&T balked at the increase, and Crown Media refused to allow continued carriage.
Great News. I want it for the shows such as love boat, Melrose, and the new one with the drama queens. I know their have to be many people in my age group that would love it. (50)
Why does Uverse not offer the Hallmark channel? Is there any plan to add it? Combined with the 3 days I will be without service (all services went out July 18 and service call won't be until July 21; I was issued a $20 credit) and no Hallmark channel (which my wife loves-especially at Christmas,) I may be looking at changing to Xfinity soon. And apparently my discounts are about to expire 7/23. Thank you.

Hallmark channel has been gone since Sept. 2010....almost 5 years....sooooo I wouldn't hold my breath but there's always a chance that it will come back.
