replacing old tv with another

I have U verse and love it only have one.I was given a larger TV and want to replace it with my smaller one.How do I unplug the power and conections so I do not loose all my favorites chandels.Do I just switch all the plugs to new one and plug it into the power

@knuddel1 - Your settings are in the U-verse software & your changing the TV will not affect them.

 

The easiest way to change the TV is to replace the TV end of the plug old to new  - looking to find the same jack on the new TV.

 

The problem comes up if the old TV is SD & the new TV is HD. You can make a direct change as mentioned above, but connecting HD will be a big improvement even if you do not subscribe to HD service.

 

You should connect the TV HDMI or Component & set the the aspect in u-verse to HD.

 

Perhaps the person who gave you the TV can help. Of course, if this raises more questions, post them here.

@knuddel1   Just the plugs going to the TV set, if you can plug them into the older TV, might not be same plugs needed.  If so, come back for more help.  Good luck 😉
