Showtime HD Premium On Demand list movies

Can someone explain why Showtime HD under Premium, the list of movies shows only ONE MOVIE?. Also, under Sho HD it shows Series category.

Where DID ALL MOVIES GO?

I understand that now, but someone at AT&T U-verse needs to explain this to Customer service, Tier 1, and Tier 2 personnel,

because no one I talked to could explain why Showtime HD On Demand only has 2 Movies.

Guys,

Showtime is responsible for their OnDemand programming. Most of the time when you see two movies or some other low number, Showtime has pulled content and is in the process of replacing it with new programming. As for being able to see all movies showing on a premium channel, I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS HAPPEN. The sheer amount of server space this would take up would be absurd. OnDemand is a feature INCLUDED with your service, not a seperately billed a la carte service. Enjoy whats on there and direct complaints to the premium channel in question.

I certainly hope you are right.  I had not eyeballed the premium on demand programming for quite a while.  This time of year is when we resort to watching that stuff.  Anyway.  I remember Showtime On Demand did used to have a rather large selection of HD movies.  But, as of this afternoon, there are only two listings.  Caught me by surprise.  Hope Showtime gets is straightened out.

should be. usually happens every thirty days. usually only takes a few days to upload more but sometimes it takes longer. i did however reach out to a contact at showtime, just to gently inquire about the length of time it has taken. update you guys when/if i hear something.

I think it was the case in the past.  If I see anything showing on Showtime, HBO, etc. I alwys use ondemand because the picture quality is much better than the U-verse live stream.  I always found the movie in the linup.  In fact most of the Premium channel's lists are almost too big to scroll through.  They also often have the bonus footage as well.

However, it always seems other service provider have more VOD for the same channels.  Why are the content provders always shorting U-verse (if that is the case)?

Also, ever since I've been a subscriber Showtime HAS had just about the entire rotation of their movies up.

Think about it this way. AT&T owns the VOD servers not showtime or others. AT&T tells showtime how much space they have to use on said server. if they only alot, say, 250gb of space, then that determines how much the can put up.

Well....to add fuel to the fire.....I E-mailed Showtime and asked one question.  "Why are there no HD movies listed in the On-demand service of AT&T U-verse."  Here is the "pass the buck" answer I got back today:

Response (KatieG) - 07/13/2011 04:45 PM
Dear Harold,

Thank you for writing to us about Showtime On Demand.  Each service provider allots a different amount of space for Showtime On Demand HD.  You may want to contact AT&T U-Verse for the most accurate Showtime On Demand scheduling information in your area.  General scheduling information for Showtime On Demand SD can be found online at www.sho.com/site/schedules/ondemand.do.

Thanks for watching,
Showtime Customer Service

Perhaps it's because Showtime is in the U300 package so they don't deem it worthy?

Typically VOD servers have massive amounts of storage.  These servers are built for that.

In short here's the response I received from Showtime on the same question you asked.

Showtime makes its On Demand content available to service operators nationwide on the date listed on the On Demand schedule.  Showtime On Demand scheduling information can be found online at http://www.sho.com/site/schedules/ondemand.do.  If you believe that your operator is missing a particular title and you have already verified on our website that it should be available, it is possible that there has been a problem with the reception of this title by your operator, and it is likely that this issue is already in the process of being resolved.

I just checked Showtime's  on line ON Demand list. Showtime currently list 46 movies On Demand, 12 which are highlighted of which 11 are listed on AT&T U-verse on Demand, of which 3 are list as HD. I suspect that the other 34 movies Listed on Showtime's WEB site are future listing. So it is really in Showtime's court to provide more movies ON Demand.

I don't by this sever space issue, since AT&T U-verse HBO has 39 HD movies and Cinemax has 64 HD movies ON Demand, of course you have to upgrade to the 450 plan.

Earlier in the year there was widespread corruption in the VOD catalog.  It took so long for that to get resolved I stopped using VOD for a while.

I bet if we checked Comcast all 46 would be there in HD.

In other words, it will never get fixed?

Maybe, we should ALL CALL AT&T and complain about it.......

No.  But if I did I would be working in their video production department.
