tv picture freezes every 3 minutes

all channels work, and u-verse demand works fine. but, when watching any channel live the picture freezes every 3 minutes. you can change channels to any channel and it will be working, and change immediately back and it also will be working, but if you leave a channel on it will freeze for about a minute then restart. att support has has not been helpful. any ideas?

You don't tell us what Support already had you do, so anything we suggest, you may already have done.   There are plenty of things to suggest. Smiley Surprised

Mine is freezing too.  Been down almost a week.  Turn to any channel and after 15 or so seconds freezes the picture and no audio.  I would have had a tech out already but others in my neighborhood are having the same issues and I thought it would be fixed by now since they had AT&T on it.  I have fiber to my house--and internet is working fine aand can stream netflix

I had various channels freeze on my tv screen off and on (at all hours) for nearly five weeks. The first technician, who installed the system, never came back to correct it, even though he stated that he would. The second one, who came out, tightened the wiring on the DVR, and changed the Gateway. The third technician changed the DVR by that tv, as it was defective. The tv by that DVR was the only one which experienced freezing of the picture. The technician told me that he spoke with other technicians who experienced that problem. In any event, I've not experienced any further freezing since the defective DVR was replaced.

It seems as though when watching any given channel, the picture and audio freeze. Switching channels via the OSG to an adjacent channel then back to the one that I was watching usually resolved the issue. Is this normal?

@Cajundweeb   I'd do a 30 sec unplug/plug in reboot of the ATT RG (router/modem) and see if that takes care of it.  Good luck 😉

I cannot tell if I am watching a deep space show with incredible black details, or its just u-verse crashing every 2 minutes. I dont hear any John Williams scores, so I suspect it's att u-verse typical garbage.

We are watching a live newscast when the picture freezes numerous time for no more than a second at a time.  Currently, we live in Kansas City, MO.  We had similar issues in Dallas - Forth Worth, Texas.  There was no resolution, other than missing work for a "repair" person to attempt to fix the problem.  The equipment is different, and now, the location is different.  The only common denominator is AT&T Uverse.  The only solution to that problem, if we ever get smart enough, is to go to another provider.  AT&T Uverse is simply to big on service and too small in customer service.
