U Verse feed versus Spectrum
Why does my friend's spectrum tv and internet streaming feed come in 15 or more seconds faster than my U Verse cable or streaming? He's yelling and screaming while I am watching the players break the huddle.

Are you both watching HD? What channel? It could also be how the components of the various boxes process the picture or how the TV displays the picture.
Are you both on live TV? Sometimes I'm watching a few moments behind live and I forget I'm behind live TV.

We were both watching HD live tv on ABC, the LSU v Texas game, last night. This also happens when we are both watching baseball games on streaming tv. He is getting his signal between 15 and 30 seconds faster than mine even though mine is not going through my box.
Incidentally, we are both using firesticks to stream.
We are both wired to our routers.
Thanks

I don't understand. You are comparing the stream timing from two different services and you expect them to be in sync?
First live feeds are delayed anyhow (so they can censor it if possible). Second the service's feed may be being picked up from different paths (satellites, microwave relays, land lines, whatever). Third who knows what delays specturm and att add to the transmission. And fourth the receivers themselves (and/or the gateway) introduce some delay in the IPTV packet handling or for internet streaming probably that too.
In that last case you can illustrate IPTV handling for yourself if you have an wireless receiver, say on uverse. Turn on the tv's on both the dvr and wireless receiver and set for the same channel. See how in sync that is! You will find it's never in sync. If you play with it though (switch to another channel and back) and set the audio to just the right volume you can get a neat reverb effect.
