Uverse app on IOS not working

I have been getting a message for quite awhile that tells me that the app is "temporarily unavailable." I have updated the app and have the most current IOS version.  I also tried deleting the app and reinstalling.  Nothing works!  Any ideas?

We're happy to help with the U-verse app on your IOS device, @Charlain.

We have some additional tips on how to troubleshoot your streaming app. If this does not work, let us know if:

  • You get this message when you open the app or when you sign in using your credentials? (this is to confirm the issue is with the app and not your login credentials).
  • You have tried logging in on another IOS device? (this is to eliminate it is a device issue).

Please let us know the IOS version your device is currently running, so we can confirm it is supported.

We will be looking forward to your reply.

The issue has been happening using the app on my iPad Pro. As per your suggestion, I tried to use the app on my iPhone also and got the same message. Iam running the most current IOS on both devices (15.0.2 on the iPad and 14.8 on iPhone X).

@Skibumtb

Hello.  Just curious to know if you’re using the app on your home network.

I didnt answer part of your question.  It doesnt appear when I open the app but rather when I attempt to log in

Interesting.  Normally the app would complain about wrong credentials vs saying the service isn’t available.  Uverse TV is not available in all of the lower 48 states.

I have a Uverse account at home. What isnt working is the app on iPad or iPhone

I was just trying to clarify if the iPad isn’t working at home or in some remote location.

If you can’t login to the app at home, you need to track down a set of credentials the server will recognize.  Look in the profile section of the myAT&T app where Uverse is listed and the att.net email listed should work.  Otherwise create a subaccount email and that has worked for others.

It doesnt work at home or anywhere else.  I checked the app and I only have one att.net email address. I set up a subaccount email and that didnt work either

Interesting @Skibumtb .  Can you use those credentials to access any content from a network such as TBS for example through their native app?   The TBS app will send you to att to authenticate your U-verse TV subscription.

I installed the TBS app, it took me to Uverse to confirm my credentials and I was able to watch TBS programming.  This is clearly an AT&T Uverse issue, not something I am doing wrong.  I have seen blogs on this issue going back two years.  I also just learned that Uverse is no longer available for new subscriptions so I doubt they have any interest in solving this issue

I haven’t been able to use the remote in a couple years. It works on my iPad 15.4.1 but not my iPhone 15.4.1. I tried everything!!

Solution for me: I deleted the app, hard reboot. Then, I turned the phone off for a few minutes. Reinstalled the app and the remote option still didn’t work. Finally, I turned off background app refresh for the Uverse app and the remote option was there!!! I hope this helps others!!
