U-verse App

A few channels - like "TV Land" have video problems when streaming through the app (e.g., iphone, firestick).  The video will freeze every 5-10 seconds and pixelate.  This started happening this year - it was working fine before.  I have tried on multiple devices and multiple networks.  It is not the network speed or the device.  I was hoping with enough time - ATT would fix it.  But still a problem.   Can ATT please fix this?

Just an unrelated question here... are you having any issues with channels not showing up, or having problems logging in, or just this playback issue?

Do you normally watch while connected to a cell carrier network or Wi-Fi?

Couple of things.  First, in my experience the forum isn’t useful for having att fix anything.   Leave a negative review on the App Store.

Second, I agree with you 100% that streaming live video in the app plain sux.  Mostly unwatchable.   If you have the option of using your U-verse subscription to watch your stream on the native network app, that’s a better choice.

Sometimes stuff doesnt show up - i log off and log back in and that works most times.  Otherwise try a few hours later. Using wifi.  The app is terrible and very unreliable.

Some channels play in slow motion mode; some channels freeze when playing.  Dont understand how every other competitive streaming service works fine.  ATT has mismanaged this service - baffling for such a company to drop the ball on a very competitive space.

Let's get your U-Verse app working again, @amjinfo.

If you're having playback issues when using the app, we highly recommend that you troubleshoot it. Here a few steps you can take to do so:

  1. Make sure you are using the correct member ID to sign in
  2. Restart the device.
  3. Delete cache. Varies on phone, browser or device operating system.
  4. Uninstall and reinstall the app
  5. Verify you have the latest software/ operating system on your phone or tablet
  6. Turn off other apps that may be in use
  7. Make sure you have U-verse TV service and an appropriate package – if you do not have U-verse TV, you can see if it is available by signing into your account at att.com.
  8. Reset your password – This can help sync up your account.
  9. In some instances, restoring the phone has resolved app function. You may lose pictures and other data if this is performed.
  10. Also, be sure to report/post a review in the applicable software store for your affected device to help address an issue.

Troubleshooting the U-Verse app can often fix common issues, so let us know if these steps help.

As for the problem with some channels not appearing in the guide, this is a known problem and our backend team is actively working to resolve the problem. We appreciate your patience with us as they work to restore the service back to full functionality.

Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns!

I rarely watch TV on my phone using the AT&T U-verse app.  But when I have, it has worked with a few exceptions.
