Uverse Easy Remote/AT&T Uverse apps power buttons?

I recently got the remote apps for Uverse on my phone and tablet. The only issue is there doesn't seem to be a power button available on either the easy remote or uverse app. Turning on and off, seems like the most basic function of a remote. Does anyone know if there is a way to turn on and off the receiver from the apps or add a power button option?
