U-verse is not available at this time Error message

I am getting a”U-verse not available at this time. Please try again later.”  Restart Receiver.  I have restarted a ad and reset my router several times and reset my DVR several times over the last 2 hours. Will I ever get my U-verse back again?

Message displayed: Uverse service unavailable at this time, try back later.  Rebooted gateway red button, unplugged gateway, unplugged WAP, also reset with tiny pin, reset & restarted DVR several options (held power down, unplugged, and used display prompt to restart), restarted another receiver.   And checked 3rd receiver.  It shows channel guide, it first displayed the nightly (I guess reboot), because it first showed 12-1am (like it was hung). It shows the guide and show content now correct time, however no channels work.

I’ve called 800-288-2020 multiple times over the last 24 hours and either on hold for many, many hours until I had to drop or when requesting a Call Back via the IVR it can’t complete my request and drops my call.  I’ve tried online to report issue only to go in circles as the system checks say Gateway and diagnostics are good.  I’ve tried to use chat function only to wait for hours for Agent to join the chat.  Just trying to contact someone at AT&T to report Uverse outage, but there doesn’t seem to be anyone available.  AT&T support is nonexistent!

We haven't had TV since last night yet when I log on to my account, it says ALL GOOD - no outages. Come on ATT, at least update the website. Cant get a hold of anyone on the phone.

I have a Uverse outage in 76052 zip code, website says everything is good, but it is not working, no one will answer phone or chat.  Been only hold for 2 hours. No way to report an outage.  This is outrageous.

600 pm yesterday, I tried to watch a recording of the football game.  Blank screen.  Live TV was working.  I did a restart but the wheel wouldn't stop turning.  Did all the things to get it work.  Nothing.  Att computer says I need a tech.   Scheduled for Tues.  This morning I asked my neighbor if hers was out.  It is.  How does att not know there is a general outage?  There is an outage a couple of miles away but does not include our area.

ALERT (for 75087) - we're up!! go ahead if you see the screen to reset click "reset receiver"   . . let it do the reset on the main (wired) receiver first - FINALLY did not require a power cycle or gateway reboot just reset each receiver!! thanks everyone!!

Thanks to the U Verse techs who got the system up and running again (at least here in Dallas): well done.
Also: thank you Skeeter for doing what you can to help us.

Still, I would like to make  a suggestion  for next time such a widespread problem occurs:

U Verse has every customer's email address. Further, everyone who posted here, obviously has working email, or they couldn't have posted to the forum. Since apparently the normal troubleshooting systems couldn't be programmed with a notice. It would be great if U Verse could put out a broadcast email advising of an major outage.

To be frank, the notice at the head of this forum post either wasn't there earlier, or I missed it. In any case I would speculate that only perhaps 20% of U Verse users even know this forum exists.   So... putting a notice here, while useful... is still a pretty obscure place.

"It would be great if U Verse could put out a broadcast email advising of an major outage."

That's a great idea, but some people still don't check their email as frequently as others. A text message might be better. "AT&T has been made aware of a widespread service outage affecting TV services only. Our technicians are working to restore service as quickly as possible."

53154: Oak Creek, Wisconsin is up a running.

So do we have to call in for service credit?
