Uverse search lists Latin channels First

When I search a show which happens to air on both Regular channels and on Latin channels, the list on the search always shows the name twice with no indication that the first line seems to always be Latin channels.  I thought English was the primary language of the USA.  Why aren't the English channels listed first?  Uverse needs to have an indication on their search for Latin channels.  Waste of time for those of us that are looking for the Regular channels.  Also, assuming English is our primary language, I hit record and discover too late that I recorded it in Latin.

Assume you mean recorded in Spanish. Smiley Surprised

Don't how that happens as many thing do not end up the same in English/Spanish.

Give us some specific examples so we can try it to see what's happening. 😉

You could always hide the channels and they won't render in the search.

Hide or customize channels in U-verse lineup

Using your AT&T U-verse Remote Control, follow these instructions to hide the channels that you don't want to see in your guide or when browsing channels:

  1. To hide channels, press Menu, then select Options.
  2. Select Hide channels, then press OK.
  3. Select Customize channels and press OK. Scroll through your list of available channels.
  4. Press OK to uncheck (hide) or check (view) channels.
  5. When you are done, select Save and press OK.

Denver_1 - Your complaint sounded familiar to me. I believe, when I did more showtimes, the resulting list was in random channel order. Sometimes, the SD would be first & sometimes the HD channel would be first. Making it difficult to select the proper one. The process is very primitive. No processing to make it efficient for the user.

Since there is such duplication, it seems like a good idea to have a default filter for the STB. Select Latino or English or both, Select SD or HD or both to filter the results. Selection is one time & automatically applied to each Search.

I believe the result list used to show the channel number, but now it does not. Time and channel are the complete vital statistics for the episode. Time is only half. Channel number should be on each item on the list as critical info to decide whether or not to select the item. We need more info on the list, not less.

There is an HD indicator, but that is not a substitute for channel number. I am not sure why it is important to have an HD indicator. It is superfluous junk.

One thing I hardly ever use is the search, since it was changed. It used to be valuable & now it is not. Previously, the only thing wrong with it was it did not appear on all the menus. Now it does not matter that it is not readily available, because it is next to useless.

The other thing I never use is the red button for recording. When I first saw it, I thought it was powerful & efficient. But, it turns out it was too easy to cancel a series without realizing it. You are giving another reason for not using it on the Search result list. You do not know what you are getting. You need to take the time & effort to open the info button to make your decision & set the recording with confidence.

Of  course, it would be a major improvement if at&t could add the filter to the selection and the channel number to the result list and an "are you sure" button before cancelling the recording.

Yes, I meant Latino.  Had just searched HBO and got HBOL so wasn't thinking while typing.  Apology to my Latino friends.

Didn't work.  Deleted HBOL so scrolling works but searches still shows HBOL first.

Agree with your comments.  Filters would be wonderful.  And definitely like second chance on deleting.  Have accidentally deleted when going too fast.  But still don't understand why, for example, HBOL channels are listed before HBO channels in a search.
