You'll have to use the Uverse app on a mobile device to watch live TV. Desktop access was discontinued Nov. 1.

Not anymore. It was discontinued on 11/01/2017.
The only way to watch U-verse or manage your recordings when you're away from home is if you have any of the following devices:

Hi,
Was using laptop as an extra TV by streaming Uverse.com to laptop. As of a few days ago, this stopped working. Oddly, I can still stream Uverse to my iPhone (using the Uverse app). But, not my (Windows 10) laptop.
Can log on to Uverse, but under the "Live TV" tab, every single channel shows "Channel Off Air".
I tried 'chatting' with the help line twice. They seem to have trouble figuring it out. And, I tried 3 different browsers (Internet Explorer, Chrome and Firefox). All same.
Oddly, if I go to say the CNN web site, I can stream CNN from that web site after logging on to Uverse through their web site.
Any ideas?

@MyThoughts
This is absolutely ridiculous and in no way in any customer interest at all. I've spent DAYS attempting to track down what was happening only to find out that the service is apparently now gone? How is this not called out on the site? Why isn't there a popup or banner with bright red blinking letters telling your paying customers that the service is going away? Somehow I should have noticed one line printed in a newspaper (usatoday I believe) to even know that this was a possibility? All made even worse by the fact that it seems an obvious move to try to get customers onto DirectTVNow and paying $60-70/month for comparable service to what should already be included with their uverse package.
Also note - the fact that you can stream uverse.com/live both in and out of your home is still listed as a benefit on your own website. This kind of behavior is why telecoms and cable companies are consistently the lowest rated on customer satisfaction indexes. If I ultimately have to pay more just to stream what I've been able to all this time I guarantee att/uverse/directtv now won't see a single dime of it and current services will be cancelled.

I just now ran across this post, after trying to watch UVerse programming from uverse.com (hadn't tried it before).
I must say, I can't find anything on uverse.com that explains why all programming is listed as "Off Air" for me. I do hope that someone will update the website so that people aren't struggling to try to find out why they can't view their programming from uverse.com.

I watch TV shows on my laptop connected to a large monitor every night while my husband is in the family room watching his shows on the big TV. This is how I watch my TV shows using the "My Favorites" to bookmark my favorite TV shows. I logged on today and there is a big banner that says streaming in a browser is ending after October. And instead, they want me to download their app and use a mobile device. I don't watch content on a device - period.
I watch my shows on a BIG monitor. I don't watch TV "on a little screen". Never have and never will.
Dropping the "U-verse Live" content and the "My Favorites" content is a huge take-away for how I watch TV every night!
They tried to do this once before and the outcry was HUGE --
Please, AT&T - reconsider your decision.

It makes no sense to me that they would drop this, unless it is to force people to buy a tablet from them. I wouldn't watch on my phone. My husband is frequently in his office and uses this to watch football games, etc. What is the purpose in taking this away from customers? Please respond, AT&T. Thank you.

And, for that matter, what about Safari or Firefox? Or are you just eliminating anyone who wants to watch on a laptop or desktop? If so, why would you do this?
