U-verse TV has gone poof. I've tried everything?
We were doing our Fantasy football draft online last night so no one was paying attention to the television. Looked up and screen was frozen. Thought maybe I had accidently hit the pause button but nope. TV then went black after I hit the pause button trying to get it going again.
So far we have:
Unplugged and replugged (both from DVR and outlet) Several times
TV screen keeps going to "AT&T U-verse" in large letters and then below in small letters it says AT&T U-verse TV is not available at this time. Please try again later. Then there is a blue box that says "Restart Receiver" I've hit OK about a million times now. We also reset the main box (not sure what it is called) that runs TV/internet and phone (we have all 3 through ATT) Phone is fine. Internet is fine....although it has gone out for short periods of time (like a couple of minutes) lately.
If this can be saved I really don't want to lose all on my DVR by doing the big reset....Oh and we've had this DVR for a zillion years. It's not even listed on the receiver page. Our 2 remotes are so old the witing is starting to wear off and the buttons are getting "squishy". Hubby's can't even change the volume anymore. (BTW we have a regular/non DVR receiver in the bedroom and that TV is not working either. Can't tell you what that one says because it's a blue screen and the writing is all in Spanish)
I don't want to waste time by having a tech come out.....my opinion is since we've had this system so long it just has died. Think it's time to R.I.P????
BTW the actual TV is fine. I can watch things through HDMI/computer on TV.
Sooooooo how do I go about just picking up a new one and maybe letting me keep the hard drive in the old one to try to recover some important things I have on there (things like my kid stuff on the news etc)
I'm pretty tech aware so I THINK? I could just do it myself with a teeny bit of instruction. I don't have time to wait for someone to give me a huge window and wait around for them to show up. I'd rather just go pick something up and do it myself. BTW after all these years would I be charged for a new receiver?

@NannerOJMH Make sure the green link lite is lit, if not check the connections between DVR and the RG. 😉

Well, except for when unplugged, green light is either on or blinking green. Excuse me. Power green blinks. Dot green is on.

I just plugged it back in after having it unplugged for about an hour (wall outlet) Same AT&T U-verse message in large letters and small letters on bottom "AT&T U-verse TV is not available at this time. Please try again later" along with blue Restart Receiver box.
As it has been doing it starts with black screen (with TV's HDMI3 showing) then I get the spinning circle in bottom right of screen for a few seconds. Then 3 white dots in middle of TV for a short time. Spin again, white dots and back to same "Reset Receiver" thingy once more. During this time the DVR box has the green light stable but power button green is blinking. Once I get the restart picture all lights on the DVR box look normal. No blinking green power button. Stable green dot button next to stable blue dot button.

Just tried the Distaster Recovery (I really did not want to do that!)
Am I suppose to hold the power button until the thingy <----technical term.... keeps spinning? I stood there as long as my arm would hold (about 15 min) and once I let go it quit spinning.
Can I just take this thing to my local place along with the remotes and tell them to give me a new one????
p.s. All wires check out fine.

I have the same problem. TV service went out Sun at 8:30 pm. Tried to resolve on-line and on the phone service with no results. It would be nice to talk to a real person.

I just sent a PM to customer service. Still waiting for a reply. I'm very tempted to just pack it all up. Take it to the local AT&T place and say "GIVE ME A NEW ONE"
Luckily I can still get online as we have the whole TV/Internet/land line package.
I wish us both luck!
p.s That's about the same time ours went out too!

CONGRATS! I'm still plugging and unplugging. Pressing buttons, rebooting etc.
Who did you call? Local or the contact number here? I have to leave for an appointment soon so can't sit on a phone but plan on calling someone when I get back.

@NannerOJMH it sounds like your DVR has died and you need a new one. If you don't hear from the Customer Care team, call the CS number and tell them to send you a new DVR.
DO NOT TAKE THE OLD DVR TO AN ATT STORE! That's not how it works. When you get the new DVR, you should get an email with instructions how to return the old one via UPS.
