Uverse--Powering down goes to screen saver--how do I disable that. (ie. TV not entirely off)
I turn off the TV/Uverse and it goes to a screensaver. How do I disable it?

Here's my take on the situation:
The UVerse remote has to accomplish two functions: 1.) powering down your TV and 2.) powering down the Uverse box. You have to give it time to do both. The screensaver appears when the receiver is off but the TV is still on.
After pressing the Power button, hold the remote still for 2-3 seconds. If you press the Power button and move the remote away from the TV/box TOO fast you're not giving the remote time for each task.
If you'll just slow your roll, the remote will turn off both the TV and the receiver.

That usually means you didn't actually turn off the tv. With tv on and receiver off it shows one of the screen saver pictures with the message "press ok to watch tv" at the bottom. Next time this happens see if that's the case. When power is on to the receiver it's power button is lit.
This can happen because the IR signals from the uverse remote to the tv and receiver are not sent at the same time. It sends the code to the receiver and then to the tv a fraction of a second later. If you move the remote away too quickly you end up turning off the receiver but not the tv. As short as the delay is you would be surprised how easily it happens. You need to keep the remote pointing at the receiver and tv long enough for the IR signals to be sent to both devices.

This happens to me too, when I don't point the remote in exactly the right spot for the TV and box to turn off.
What I do is, I press the OK button to bring the signal back, then press the Power button and see if they both turn off this time.
