Watching video recording

Reboot the dvr.  I don't know if it will fix the sync problem but it's worth a try.

Thanks, but no luck.  It is odd, some recordings are perfect and others out of sync.

Is there any pattern to which are in sync and which are not in sync?  You said "live programs" are in sync?  What do you mean exactly by "live"?  Are you referring to local live news broadcasts? Or local broadcasts vs. network broadcasts?  Is it specific channels or networks?

As an experiment pick some show, start recording it as you are watching it.  Is the recording in or out of sync (assuming it's in sync as you are watching it -- come to think of it is that what you mean by "live"?).  Since you said in some cases recordings are ok you may have to repeat this experiment a number of times on different shows and/or channels.

Another experiment might be to try using a component connection instead of HDMI.  And that begs some other questions about your setup...

What is your TV make and model?

What is the model of your DVR?

Is the audio being played directly through the TV or some other device, and if another device how is its audio connected?

I don't know if any of this helps but the last bunch of questions may help in refining a google search.  I did a google search on the generic question "uverse dvr audio sync problem" and there were a lot of hits so it might help to refine the search based on your answers (...or not).

Live as in real time.

I have noticed that the out of sync always occurs when I record PTI on 1602.  So, I recorded another show, on 1602 this evening, and it was out of sync.  I also recorded BBT on 1112 and it is in sync.  Maybe it is an ESPN issue?  We shall see.
