Who rates U-verse TV movies? Ratings use a star system as follows: ★; ★+; ★★; ★★+; ★★★; ★★★+; etc.
Most movies shown through our U-verse service are rated using a star system as follows: ★; ★+; ★★; ★★+; ★★★; ★★★+; etc. The rating shows up in the movie's description.
Does anyone know who comes up with the ratings? Does each network? The Academy of Motion Pictures? Who? We'd like to know so that we can intelligently decide how much weight to place on them. We want to consider the source but don't know who that is. Ratings appear arbitrary at times.

The last information I have shows that it was TitanTv at that time. A quick check of the grid at TitanTV.com shows that they do use **+, ***+. I think the + is the best they could do at drawing half a star using regular character sets.
e.g.
Pride & Prejudice
(Drama, Movie, 2005, PG, ***+)

The ratings come from the listing provider that AT&T uses. I'm not completely sure who they use at the moment, but that company aggregates the data from the content providers (local TV stations, cable networks, movie channels) and provides it to AT&T.

Thank you for the lead JefferMC. This is the reply I got from Titan:
"Thank you for contacting us.
The number of stars awarded to a movie is supplied to our data provider by the distribution company that makes the movie available for syndication. The distributor also provides the event's synopsis.
As your own experience has shown, all ratings used to quantify and assess the qualities and overall worthiness of any item of art are arbitrary and subjective. They essentially reflect the views of one or more people whose opinions may differ greatly from your own.
As always, caveat emptor.
