Why doesnt Uverse offer the NHL Network when it carries NFL NBA AND MLB?

I switched to U-Verse due to they stated the amount of sports coverage was going to rival that of Comcast. A simple solution, The NHL Network added to your package. You have more wasted channels showing info mercials of Tai Chi with Regis, Auto erotic Toys for those of us who do not need to use them, Larry King, Cindy Crawford, etc, etc, etc. These are all making mpney for you, yet giving us a false impression of how many available channels are available on U-Verse.

The NHL Network is a sports channel. It doesn't show repeats of US Open matches from two years ago, it doesn't show minor league basketball, IT SHOWS NHL HOCKEL!

People love this sp[ort . It is a true fans sport. I don't need to see rugby, or Australian rules football, or even soccer from matches I know the score of since these matches are even replays of yesterdays matches. GIVE US OUR NHL NETWOK!!!!

Respectfully,

@Maddougsand1   Hockey is realy a niche sport, popular mainly in team's cities (of course many are Detroit Red Wings fans), much more popular in Canada than the US.

Then maybe not so popular in a number of the last added markets, these Red Wings fans make it seem like a Detroit home game in a number of them.

Personally just a Red Wings fan, if not in Stanley Cup, I could care less about it.  I can get all the games on FSDet and NBC/NCBSN.  I don't waste time watching if they lose, only if they win and FF thru to Red Wings's goals.  Do the same for Tiger's baseball, Soccer and similar on Lions football, FF to when Lions have the ball. 😉

Not all hockey fans are closet fans like Wings fans. I remember how empty the Olympia and Joe Louis rinks were when the wings had losing seasons. Some of us actually enjoy watching NHL hockey games for the love of hockey!

The price of Uverse never decreased when AT&T decided not to carry the NHL channel!

It makes no sense why this continues year after year. It's now been 5 years. If they really wanted to make it work, they could have long before now.

Hey, Directv has it and that's where you guys want everybody to go.

and how long before Direct TV loses the NHL Network because of the new ownership (AT&T) and their lack of negotiating skills.

Besides I don't do satellites.

I think the geographic footprint of AT&T U-verse vs the geographic location of most Hockey fans may play into this decision.

beatfan mentions a five-year absence. How long was AT&T without Hallmark? at3edme1 mentions the negotiating. I'll mention that AT&T just added an international sports channel to both lineups.

Not interested in an International Sports Channel.

Cablevision, Charter, Comcast, Cox, DirecTV, Dish Nertwork, Quest, Time Warner, TVMAX and Verizon all managed to negotiate contracts for the NHL Network. Perhaps the AT&T negotiators are the problem.

@my thoughts I'm thinking that games on NHL Network would not be on the app since they're nationally televised. Of course, one might be able to proxy to Canada, but then there's Canadian TV.
