WMYO

Can Uverse customers no longer view WMYO? Shows like Steve Wilkos, Jerry Springer and Maury Povich...

See this.   That station has changed their channel lineup.  Nothing att can do about that.

WMYO became WBKI on Feb. 12.

From the  WBKI website:

The CW BKI is temporarily not on DirecTV and ATT U-Verse. We are not in a dispute, but both services are unable to broadcast our station at the moment due to legal constraints at their end. They are working through their issues and hopefully, The CW BKI will be back on DirecTV and ATT U-Verse soon.

Actually, let's break this down better --

WMYO no longer is the main channel on Channel 58 since WBKI moved to 58.1 and WMYO is now a sub channel (58.3).  Therefore, "must carry" stations  tend to be the main channel & not sub channels.

While I understand that this change was likely being done since WBKI's 34.1 & 34.2 channels were bought at auction and had to be taken off the air by 10/25/17.

How long ago did WBKI get taken off Uverse & Directv?    Which in turn caused  WDRB decide to have WMYO replaced by WBKI.

I can understand the logic to have WBKI on UVerse over WMYO since the CW is likely more profitable than My Network TV (which essentially carries re-runs rather than newer programming on the CW).

Still, for the people who enjoyed WMYO, it's a bummer that it's gone but Channel 24 is wasting away to viewers instead......

There's going to be a lot more stuff like this between now and 2020 as stations sell off, go off the air, or move.  If you are curious to see if your favorite stations are involved look here.  And if you are curious as to why this is happening google "channel repacking".

Thanks!

I think I understand this.  They want to eliminate a set of channels which in turn means internet companies can buy these frequencies. Also,it allows other stations to move their channel # too.

I'll miss Hot Bench by not having what was WMYO Ch 58 BUT realizing that WKYI 24.1 Laff tv is ch 24 on Uverse -- i'm glad their main channel contains comedies compared to the old junk tv on ch 24.

Ironically, i typed in WMYO  databases, it comes across as WMYO-CD  which in turn shows the stations owned by the owners of WKYI.

Wow, the local feed of ION is now 41.3 ran via WDRB rather than WBNA?  Yet another good local channel replaced by re-runs galore of Deadbeat and other junk.  GRRRRR

I'm ticked. I primarily watched an to. I just signed a contract with Direct Tv and was contracted to have that channel. I'm considering not upholding my end of the bargain since they havent for whatever reason. Inwas told by a very reliable party that Incould spend approximately $100 and get the channel and many many more for no charge.
