XXIII Olympic Winter Games Multiview on U-verse TV

@skeeterintexas can correct me, but if you have U-Verse TV service, you get unlimited data. Metered data for U-Verse internet only applies if someone has U-Verse internet without any TV package. If someone has U-Verse internet without a U-Verse TV package, I'm not sure they could get any multiview feature, as they wouldn't have a U-Verse STB.

@baseballisback That "announcement" is the most confusing one they've had for awhile:

1. They're talking channels, as in TV, so why would that count against data?

2.  The Olympics are on NBC which is on everyone's package.  I'm confused as to why you would be limited.

3.  How can you have multiview if you don't have UverseTV which would be the only reason it would count against your data?

And as is the norm....more questions than answers.

The Olympics will be spread across several NBC-owned channels, not just the local NBC affiliate.  Probably not all of them are in U-200 or U-family (and especially not U-Basic).  So, I'm okay with the package requirement mention.

However, "AT&T Internet is required and counts towards internet data allowance." seems like a large part of horse hockey.  This is not how the other multiviews work.  I guess we'll have to get some one who has U-verse without AT&T Internet to do some testing here and confirm or deny.  It could be that they're testing a new mechanism to be used going forward.  But I wouldn't bet on that.  And of course, noting that U-verse TV customers get unlimited Internet means the last part is completely specious.  Did this really get reviewed?

Update: I am informed that this does indeed require AT&T Internet. 

Well, apparently some lawyer-type thinks that adding that the data counts against an unlimited allowance was a good idea (sort of like the clothing tags that tell you to take your clothes off before putting them in the washing machine).

It would be nice if OFFICIAL information given was a bit clearer!

In about 5 and a half hours NBC begins their coverage of the Olympics and the additional channels haven't been added.  When are they going to add them?  The Olympics channel has begun showing films of previous Olympics, but won't begin doing news and highlights of this Olympics until early Saturday morning.  USA will be showing some coverage beginning Saturday and CNBC will be available later.  The coverage tonight on NBC is of some of the early competition before they show the opening ceremony tomorrow night.

What Olympic channel?  What is the name/number.  I have U 200.  NBC 1006 and NBCSNH 1640.  Is that what you are talking about or is there a channel actually called "Olympic Channel"?
