ABC HD programs are incorrect on guide

In the DFW area, the ABC HD (1008 WFAAHD) programs are listed incorrectly; however, the ABC SD (8 WFAA) programs are correct. For example on 1/13 at 10:30pm CT, channel 8 has listed News 8 Update at 10; however, the WFAA HD version has Real Interrogations listed. Both channels are showing the news despite what the HD version listing says. This appears on the guide on the TV and on the AT&T Uverse mobile app.

The guide can only show what att's guide provider gives them (the meta data).  In turn the guide provider can only supply what the networks and stations provide them.  I would check with station WFAA and ask them if their data is correct.  If it is then blame the guide provider (not sure who that is any more).  Bottom line is att can't do anything about it.  The whole process of the (meta)data from the provider converted to the guide is all automatic.

You might also want to look at TitanTV web page guide.  Odds are you will find the same mistakes there too.

I noticed the issue last evening and it's still wonky this morning.  WFAA (1008) is the local ABC affiliate and the Guide is listing programs that are on A&E (1132) like Dog the Bounty Hunter and Cold Case Files.

In the 11 years I've had Uverse, I've never seen this happen.  Is it the end of the world?  No but it makes me wonder:  Is this an attempt by a pay TV network to migrate up the Guide and take another network's spot?  Can they be stopped?  Are they seeking asylum?  Will they be deported back down the guide?   Smiley Very Happy  Too many unknowns......

Edit:   @_xyzzy_  Surprisingly, the listings on TitanTV are correct so one has to wonder where this information is coming from.

Yes!  AT&T please fix this!  Would not be a big deal except it now won’t record programs because the labeling is incorrect. Previous post said AT&T wasn’t responsible but If I’m not mistaken they cash the check as service provider. It is their responsibility to make sure their service works!

I spent over an hour on the phone with AT&T technical support, and they just recently received a banner reporting the problem with WFAA, DFW,  which they didn’t know about when I called.  Regardless of whose problem it is, it’s being addressed by AT&T and the technical support CSRs finally know about it. I’m sure between WFAA, AT&T and whoever provides guide information  it hopefully will be resolved in the near future.  I just hope I get my future recordings back.  I’m willing to deal with the problem until it gets fixed because I am not going back to SD just to get the right wording.

I just checked the guide info on my remote, and the problem supposedly has been  recently fixed. The actual program, e.g. Grey’s Anatomy, shows up as well as the erroneous show name  in that time slot that I had previously recorded.

It looks like it's been fixed but I'm still fascinated with how and why it happened since TitanTV, the guide provider, was always correct.

@skeeterintexas - are you sure TitanTV is att's metadata guide provider?  I'm not and I am not even sure TitanTV is even in the business of supplying tv channel metadata.  Back in 2013 there was an announcement by a company called "FYI Television" that they would be att's metadata supplier with a "long term contract".  There was no mention just how long "long term" is and that announcement was from 6 years ago.
