Adding channels for advertisiing events

What good is the feature to hide channels, if AT&T keeps adding channels everytime there is a new event they want to advertise. I am tired of having to go in and find all of them and hide them. Just put messages out and quit slamming useless information in my guide.

Well, we all have that same pain from that, but as soon as I see one if 1416, know 416 also one and hide both of them at same time.  If then I get up in higher channels, get 1816, then also check 816 and hide those.  Unluckily ATT makes money from some that do click on them. Smiley Mad

Hide channels & Favorites guide have always been  fascinating subjects. Many people have complained about new channels being added & pouncing on them. Seeing this one caused me to think - Why not mark all unassigned numbers as hidden?

Then when a channel is assigned it will be automatically hidden.

So, I looked at the process & I see that unassigned numbers are not available for hiding. All numbers from 0001 to 9999 should be available for marking as hidden or assumed hidden. If a number is marked as hidden & it is assigned a channel it would be introduced as hidden.

Both hidden & favorites are poorly/partially implemented. So, people pick their poison - whichever compromise is least offensive - whichever compromise best serves them. It would be better if there was one fully implemented, fully robust implementation. Eliminating the need to compromise.

Allow five named selective lists. A sixth list is full access.

Allow customer to specify, via an option, which list is active.

Active list applies to guide button & chan up/down. Direct chan number entry always tunes channel.

Robust hide/unhide process found under options

Individual chans can be hidden/un-hidden while viewing via process found under ENTER button menu.

Not associated with my multiview.
