Alex Trebek final Jeopardy episodes

U-Verse not showing final Alex Trebek episodes is a huge dissatisfaction for customers!!!! Why wouldn’t these be aired January 4-8 as stations indicate they will??  Fortunately, we have HD antenna and recorded from it.  But this is the second straw after the failure to keep NBC on the air in late 2020.  We may have to switch back to Spectrum cable!

What is AT&T U-verse allegedly showing instead on the station where you expect Jeopardy?  Content is decided on by the station.  Perhaps the station didn't update the guide correctly?

Where are you located?  What is the station?

If a different program is being shown, Uverse doesn't do that.  That would be the station's decision.  Where are you located and what is the station?  Perhaps you should call that station and inquire there.

AT&T U-Verse does not control the programming on the channels. Nobody does, regardless if Spectrum, Comcast, CableOne, Dish, etc.

If the on screen guide said Jeopardy would be on, but something else aired, then either the guide information was provided incorrectly to begin with or the channel updated their programming lineup but the guide info was not updated in time for you to be aware.

However if you recorded from regular antenna, then that would suggest they are different channels. As in U-Verse provides you the local from one market, but you are close enough to another that your antenna pulled up a neighboring local with a different set of programming.

What zip code and county are you in. Which exact local did the on-screen guide differ from the programming? Or did you get that guide info elsewhere?

And you can thank your local NBC affiliate for being off-air. I assume that was Tegna as that was the big negotiation that recently finished. AT&T could not force Tegna to return their channels. But if you are happy with continuing to pay the increasing costs of locals to never have them pull the feed from AT&T, instead of trying to negotiate a more favorable rate, then you would be in the minority.

@JefferMC   @Juniper   Here's what I don't get....if there's ever a problem with a program not being shown or the wrong program shown or the wrong episode of a program being shown, I would NEVER think it was the problem of my provider, be it AT&T, Comcast, Spectrum, etc.

I am continually fascinated (or dumbfounded) that people think that EVERY misstep...EVERY problem...EVERY glitch is somehow AT&T's fault.  It's never the network.  It's never the station.  It's always AT&T's fault.  I just don't get it.....

end of rant....

@skeeterintexas , I'm with you on the thought process.

But if they actually DID record it from OTA and the recording did contain Jeopardy and they recorded the appropriate timeslot on the same station from U-verse and they didn't get Jeopardy, then I'd say they have a point.  The OP hasn't yet said that they've done this.

Possibly the U-verse Guide was missing Jeopardy, but the content was there.  I've had that issue when the US Senate debate schedule changed on a daily basis and U-verse's guide provider couldn't keep up.

With as much as the stations push out "contact your provider when..." it's no wonder that people get bamboozled into thinking it's the provider's fault.

I'm thinking the OP is confused. We definitely need more information. What are the call letters? When is Jeopardy supposed to be on? What is on instead?

Step one. Unplug, plug back in.

The TV provider is the delivery medium. It is what the consumer sees. They don't comprehend channels are separate like in traditional antenna-only days. It is nuance many of us grew up with that the newer generation just didn't get informed about.

The point is that U-verse wasn’t showing what was being broadcast live on the station.  UVerse WCNC channel was showing Jeopardy reruns while over the air WCNC via HD antenae was showing the new (final Alex Trebek) shows that were expected to air Jan 4-8.

Please clarify what you mean by "U-verse wasn't showing" :

1) U-verse didn't provide the video/audio content at the appropriate time

2) The U-verse Guide doesn't show Jeopardy, but shows something else at the time slot [BTB, I'm curious, what did the U-verse Guide show]

and also what you mean by "over the air WCNC via HD antenae was showing":

1) The video/audio content arrived over the OTA at the appropriate time

2) Whatever guide you utilize for OTA showed the Jeopardy

What guide service do you use with your OTA antenna?  Does your SmartTV do that for you?  You said you recorded from the antenna, so do you have an HDHomeRun DVR or something like that?

AT&T uses a guide service that collects program information from the various and sundry content providers, e.g. your local station, aggregates it and sells the service to the video providers like AT&T.  Some of these services also provide a web interface that would show the same schedule as AT&T does.  If the station changes its schedule and this doesn't make it to the guide service, then AT&T won't show the change.

I'm having the same issue with Jeopardy on UVerse tv. Been on a series record for years with no problems. Channel 7 ABC Chicago, 3:30, M-F. Last 3 days (Jan. 4--6), show does not record. Nothing tapes in its place. Guide lists the show at 3:30 but it does not record. (The early morning episode continues to record without a problem.) Is the station not allowing the afternoon episodes to be recorded? Has UVerse made an error in the Guide?

There are a few options in the record settings that should be looked at.  Generally it works correctly.  If it doesn’t, and I get that by then it’s too late, I’ll wipe the series entry and start over.  It’s important to note the series record can be removed with erasing existing recordings.

If you have your series record set up for "First runs only" and the guide data doesn't mark it as a first run, that could be the problem.
