Bally Sports Southeast programming in Nashville

Why isn't Bally Sports Southeast and specifically the Cincinnati Reds games, on AT&T U-verse U-300 in Nashville (zip code 37221)?  Comcast has these games and this channel here.  There is programming on that channel (1729 or 729), but it is NOT what is on BSSE.  Please explain this and give a solution.  Thank you.

It seems like you're in the TV area. The primary channel is Bally Sports Ohio, which is 732/1732.

What do you see on that channel?

Hi and thanks.  Yes, 732 and 1732 are both Bally Sports Ohio, to which I am not able to subscribe.  BUT, the thing is, Comcast gets the Bally Sports Ohio FEED of the Reds games on Bally Sports Southeast (1729/729)...they have all year.  So, why doesn't U-verse have the Bally Sports Ohio feed of the Reds games on Bally Sports Southeast (1732/732) like Comcast does?  Is there an issue between AT&T and Bally?  I DO get Bally Sports South and Bally Sports Southeast with alternate programming!  Thanks again.

Is 1732 available on your channel lineup? If not you could subscribe to the HD Premium tier which carries a bunch of out-of-market regional sports networks. Usually, on those channels, only the pre and post-game shows are available as the game is blacked out. However, since you live in the Reds market, you should be able to watch the game.

"However, since you live in the Reds market, you should be able to watch the game."  EXACTLY!!  I am in the Reds market.  AT&T's only competition...Comcast...DOES carry the Reds games in my market (Nashville)!  The programming on AT&T's Bally Sports Southeast in Nashville is DIFFERENT than the programming on Comcast's Bally Sports Southeast in Nashville.  How can that be??  AT&T tells me there's nothing they can do about what the network feeds.  But they seem to be feeding the wrong programming to Nashville!!  To whom can I appeal??

What does your tv screen show when you tune in to fox sports Ohio, this game is blacked out or you're not subscribed to this channel?

It's just a random guess, but here's an idea.

Your friend doesn't have access to Fox Sports Ohio. As a result, they're getting alternative programming (the games) on Bally Sports Southeast.

Because U-Verse has Bally Sports Ohio, you're getting the regular programming on Southeast. Someone (maybe Sinclair?) wants you to subscribe to Ohio to watch the games on the proper channel. In this case, AT&T's hands are tied, since they're merely passing along the signals they receive from the programmer.

There was a slightly similar case a few years ago. U-Verse customers got darts on Fox Sports 1 during some live events because AT&T refused to pay more money for that live programming which came to them during the middle of a carriage agreement. Other providers got the live games. In either situation, the provider could only show what was provided.

What does your guide say for BSSE when the games are on? Does it say "MLB baseball" or something else?

For example, tonight's Reds game is on MLB network (9pm cdt), but will be blacked out here (because they think we're getting it on Bally).  BSSE (1724) has Professional Tennis scheduled.  That's the thing...BSSE programming here on U-verse has NOTHING to do with the South East.  Tennis from Europe, Boston College Volleyball, etc....it is certainly NOT BSSE programming.  By the way, BSOH (1732) Shows Reds/Dodgers.  But I don't get that (which is fine)...COMCAST customers in Nashville DO get the Reds game on BSSE!!

So you don't have access to that channel?  This is where I am confused, do you have access to  Bally sports ohio on your channel line up or you don't have it. Can you tune in channel 1732?

In some areas select games from neighboring Bally Sports Networks are carried on either Bally Sports South or an alternate channel. These include games from the St. Louis Cardinals (Bally Sports MidwestIndiana Pacers (Bally Sports Indiana),[14] Cincinnati Reds (Bally Sports Ohio), and New Orleans Pelicans (Bally Sports New Orleans).

The keyword is SELECT games, if you want to watch all the Reds games you have to  get Bally Sports Ohio and not count on a different regional sports network to televise the Reds games.

When I hit 1732 (or 732), it says "You are not subscribed to this Channel."  There is an animated TV screen with an exclamation point in the middle of it.  I SHOULD get it on 1724 (BSSE), just like the COMCAST subscribers do in this market.

Ok, it is now 9:30cdt on Tuesday, April 27th, in the Nashville market.  On MLB Network (Channel 1634, where the Reds/Dodgers is the national game), I have the Padres/D-Backs game.  On BSSE (Channel 1724), I have "Tennis Classics," the 2020 ATP Rome Masters.  This is the channel the Reds/Dodgers is supposed to be on.  On my neighbor's COMCAST feed of BSSE right now, the Reds/Dodgers are on.  BTW, just now, BSSE/1624, went to break saying "thanks for watching the tennis channel."  Thanks for hearing me.  Advise if you can.  -Michael

Sorry, my bad.  The tennis is on BSSO (Bally Sports South, channel 1724).  That is the channel the Reds should be on.  The Braves are on BSSE (1729).  BTW, again, 1732 (BSOH) says I'm not subscribed.  Thanks.  -Michael

You have to subscribe to the HD premium tier, to get the out-of-market sport regional sports channels. One of those will be Bally sports Ohio where you can watch your Reds games. Comcast could have different agreements allowing them to run reds games on different regional sports networks. for Comcast customers.. Bottom line you need Bally sports Ohio to watch ALL the  Red games on u-verse. The HD premium tier is not that expensive, you can always drop it after the baseball season.

And as the above poster said  Bally Sports Ohio is probably not available to Comcast customers in Nashville, so they can use alternate channels. In your case Bally Sports Ohio is available to you, you just have to subscribe.

Thanks, bill4002.  This is helpful.  Its just a shame I'm paying for BSSO, but getting alternate programming.  Just doesn't make sense to me.  Thanks again.

Here's what I would do.

I'd call AT&T and be really polite. See if you can get the HD Premium Tier for one month for free. If you get the games in 1732, you're good. If you're blacked out there, try a free trial of MLB.tv online.

Even if you can't, they *should* be able to give you credits in other places to make the upgrade free. Just remember to write down when those promotions expire. AT&T will not remind you. When they expire, feel free to call back OR pay the then-regular price.

One of those two ways should work and be less expensive than the other way...I'd think.

One of those two ways *should* get you the game.

I do suspect there's some sort of arrangement with Comcast to deliver the games on a different channel.
