Can't Watch Texas Rangers Baseball
HI,
My wife and I moved to a different state this past january, we moved from texas to mississippi. While we were in texas we used to be able to watch texas rangers american league baseball on channel # 1753, now after moving to a different state whenever we try to view the baseball gave we receive a notice that the game has been blacked out in our area. Is there anyway around this problem, we sure would like to be able to view the texas rangers.
Thanks,
David

Most likely, due to your move, you are no longer in the area served by the Texas Rangers Regional Sports Network. Due to the rules put out by Major League Baseball, the National Hockey League, the National Basketball Association, and Major League Soccer, only games that are on the Regional Sports Networks that serve the area where you live will be shown. All others will be blacked out. This is NOT a rule of your television provider. All television providers are forced to go by these rules that originate with the leagues.
Put your zip code in the space provided to find out which Regional Sports Networks serve your area, and which teams are included.

MLB.tv with a Roku, Apple TV or any other of a number of devices does the trick.
I had the Roku version in past years and I was able to select the exact broadcast that I wanted. I believe there's also the option to select the radio broadcast and watch the TV broadcast.
Games on FS1, ESPN, ESPN2 are not part of this package... I don't know about simulcasts, but you'd probably have to watch on the national channels.
Your HD Premium Tier will continue to get the pregame, postgame and any other bonus coverage, excepting rebroadcasts.

Hi,
Thanks for the replies, what i find rather strange is the fact that our oldest son who lives in the same area as me is able to view the games. He has direct TV as his provider, that really makes me wonder what's going on.

DirecTV has the Major League Baseball Extra Innings baseball package that costs extra. With that package you can watch out of market games. Your son probably has it if he is watching the Texas Ranger games.
Unfortunately, U-Verse does not have MLB Extra Innings.
