Disney channels (including the ESPN complex) no longer available using TVE feature
I know DIRECTV didn't do it, but it's a big negative on the value of my U-verse TV subscription that Disney is no longer providing content on the TV Everywhere feeds. I used Channels DVR to capture games that I wanted to watch and could join them in progress, FF through injuries and reviews. Now I have to use the U-verse DVR, which is not as flexible (i.e. I can't watch on my computer while I'm doing something else) or I have to watch it on the ESPN app, which is not very good (it likes to rewind to the beginning a lot, or just exit out) and likes to give you fits on SECN+ games.

How did you even sign up? Did I miss an email?
I assume you're taking about the ESPN, Disney+ and Hulu apps.

No, not the apps. No additional sign up required. It's the sort of thing that the old Uverse.com site used (I just checked the U-verse Android App and it does still work) and is a bit of history from before every provider had an app.
Video providers would provide a feed of their linear channels for MCVP authenticated users, as long as you know the URL and can log in (and your MCVP vouched that you should be able to watch that channel based on your service), you could watch the video from any video app that understood the protocol/codex. It's similar to how things like the ESPN app are authenticated, but doesn't require you to actually use the vendor's own app.
Other channels have dropped TVE over the years for various reasons. There are still quite a few that provide it. But the ease of which I could record and watch college sports on the ESPN channels using channels DVR is something I was not looking forward to giving up and was trying to provide a video provider that would also give me access. That's one less benefit to U-verse (and DIRECTV stream). Unfortunately, the ESPN app on FireTV stinks on FF/REW and when trying to watch on a delay for a lot of games... The MCVP recording facilities are just not as good as Channels DVR, and I really didn't want to even have one... except for this .

But shouldn't there be a way to log in to Disney+ using U-Verse info?
Or does such only work for the ESPN app?

We have not dropped any channels from the TVE experience. Disney unfortunately took down 3 channels, but all others are still available to watch and or set recordings. Please advise what specific channels you are having issue with.

The ability to access ESPN, ESPNU, ESPN2, SECN and to some smaller extent ACCN, via the TV Everywhere protocol is my issue. The channels work on the U-verse IPTV feed.
As I said "I know DIRECTV didn't do it" and "Disney is no longer providing content on the TV Everywhere feeds". Prior to this, they stopped providing unencrypted (but still authenticated and over TLS) feed for the ESPN+ content which was also a blow, because Channels (with helper software) could identify those and make them available for watching without my intervention.
The Channels DVR is much more convenient for me than the U-verse DVR for a variety of reasons (team recording, flexible playback, etc.) and ability to use it has been a soft requirement in my video provider selection list. With Disney dropping the feature, it's muddying up the landscape. If their ESPN app were better, it wouldn't bother me so much.
