Epix is coming to UVerse

Channel surfing this morning and stumbled across this Channels 1891-1894 EpixHD, EpixWH, Epix2H and Epix3H.  Doesn't give a go live date though.

The uverse channel line-up seems to confirm what this poster said.

I found an article stating Time Warner charges (at least at first) $4.99 a month for EPIX. I looked at Charter's website, and it's $15/month.

Yes, it shows it is part of the Channel Package EPIX and not in U-450.  That channel package is akin to Premium channel packages such as HBO, SHOWTIME, etc.

I am a bit confused about the four EPIX channels (1891-1894). I have U-450, and pay extra for the Premium channels. Does the above statement mean that despite having U-450 and paying for the Premium channels, I would still have to pay extra to get EPIX?

On the other EPIX thread:

Epix will available on July 14. It will be an a la cart channel. I don't know the price. Free preview July 25-27.

He answered my question. EPIX will be an additional amount to what I pay for U-450 and the Premium channels.

It will cost an additional $8 a month. If you go to the account manager channel on 9910, and add programming, Epix comes up as an option. Time Warmer had a 3 month free preview when they launched Epix. It would be nice if U-verse offered something similar.

As Beany posted, they will give a 3 day preview.  That's about typical for AT&T.

As of this morning you can sign up for Epix through the account management on your TV.  I have signed up and the cost is 8.00.  It looks like it is going live at 1AM Monday morning.  That is when the guide starts showing the programming.

Quite possibly but we won't know for a bit.  The reason that I expect that VoD will be featured - and possibly more, is that I recall reading a press release that didn't make much sense, at the time.  It said something along the lines that AT&T was working on a huge deal with a major motion picture group with more streaming than Netflix (paraphrasing).  Wonder if this is all connected?

I like that they are adding Epix. The more channel options the better. But for me personally, Imsee no reason to subscribe to it since.I have Netflix streaming. They ought to include it in the u450 package that I have anyway.

Michelle a social media person on Facebook mentioned that if you subscribed when it started you get a free month.

This is just wrong.  For the amount we already pay for U-450, EPIX should be included.  More gouging from AT&T.

It is not wrong. I have the 450 which is what I signed up for. Now it will be my choice to get EPIX or not. Just As I choose not to pay extra for other channels that they offer.

I got it this morning. The free month thing led me to give it a shot.

@Yes @AngelaCorinne VoD is available.  I saw the list under "Premium," last night.

@dwinth and @randyr5 Yep, it sure 'nuf is expensive for more movie channels.  I won't be paying to play, as I'm already tapped out with U300.  I was excited when I saw the "coming soon" graphics while flipping through the premiums the other day and then I thought better.  It dawned on me that it would not be in my U300 package.  I am a bit surprised that it's not even included with U450 but not that much.  Wanna know why I think that?  Easy, look who owns Epix!  Some of the main Motion Picture studios own it.  And they seem to be as money hungry as the RIAA.  And the MP Industry wants to know why there is a huge pirating problem.  Sigh.
