HELP Getting "This Set Top Box" does not match account

HELP Getting "This Set Top Box" does not match account error. I did not attempt to set this new receiver before the activation date. On the other hand, I have waited three days past it. Please help. I chatted with ATT for over two hours the other day - I do not want to have to go through this again. Thank you.

Call 800-288-2020 and get them to provision the receiver to your account.  If you followed the other instructions that came with it and you can't get it to work call tech support and get them to provision it.

It is my understanding you are getting the message “the set top box does not match” error.  We definitely want to get this service working for you.  I will be happy to offer my assistance.


Please reset all your receivers.  To do this open the Access Card panel and press the red reset button for 10 seconds.  Once you release the reset button allow 5 to 10 minutes for the process to complete.

Please note that U-verse TV set tops do not have an access card door.  Sigh.
