How can I use sound leveling on U-VerseTV?

Please tell me how I can control the huge decibel increase when commercials come on?

Know on my Panasonic plasma I have an audio setting that tends to even audio levels out.

Like today I was switching between 3 shows and pretty much watching something on the other 2 when commercials come on.

I've gone to a recording during the commercials then just use LAST to switch back to the live program after the commercials and keep repeating.

Reason commercials are 'louder', normal programming audio is at 25-95% UV, but commercials are at 80-100% UV and boom out at you.  Pretty much what most FM radio stations do too for their programming.  They got the volumax (raises quiet sounds) cranked up and audomax at 100%UV (holds it at 100% UV even if the DJ has it up to 150% UV on the board). 😉

There is no control with the Uverse remote.  You might check and see if your TV has some sort of equalizer feature. There are also devices you can buy that (supposedly) take care of loud commercials.

You do realize this is a problem with all providers and OTA.  Advertisers intentionally make commercials loud.  There has even been federal regulations in an attempt to control the situation.  FCC

My homemade solution is to mute every time commercials start. Maybe that will be a message to the message creators! I miss out on being able to share the commercial experience with others, but it is worth it.

I've done that too, if I can't use one of my other methods. Smiley Very Happy

First things first, I would simply measure all the levels of sound it can reproduce.. and then would try different sound levels on it.
