I have a red X on my television and my Internet and cable has been down since yesterday

 I have a red X on my television and my Internet and cable has been down since yesterday please tell me when it will be back on I have been told a couple things from AT&T, I do not believe the AT&T but they told me it was updating, and then they told me there was an outage in my area and they told me it was down Because of extreme temperatures. I need my Internet I need to be able to watch television I am paying for this service and no one is telling me what is going on. And the last person told me that they will be off for another 24 hours.
