June Programming Notices
So, in this forum, there's a RUMOR that the AT&T v Fox situation might come to a head towards the end of the summer...or not...once again, a RUMOR posted by one individual (not me.)
June 2015:
As previously noticed, AT&T's contract with the programmer for the following channels is set to expire. While these channels will continue to be available to U-verse members so long as AT&T has the rights to carry them, if a reasonable agreement cannot be reached with the programmer the programming will no longer be available. AT&T may modify the channel location for the programming by moving them from their current channel location to a channel between 9501 – 9599, and if a reasonable longer term agreement cannot be reached with the programmers, we may lose the rights to carry them (listed in alphabetical order) in or after June 2015: MGM HD (channel 1116), and Shorts HD (channel 1789).
As well as the following local channels:
(1) For California, in the Los Angeles area, KRCA (channel 62 and 3024); and in the San Diego area, KSDX (channel 29 and 3024);
(2) For Texas, in the Dallas area, KMPX (channel 29 and 3024); and in the Houston area, KZJL (channel 61 and 3024).

I guess we'll know more tomorrow. Sometimes, waiting for the third Tuesday is so aggravating.

Good to know Dish provides Root Sports Pittsburgh and the Pirates games. I switched to ATT Uverse about 4 years ago after a dispute with DirecTV and Uverse had Fox Sports Pittsburgh at the time and carried the Pirates games. If Uverse does not get Root Sports Pittsburgh AND not black out the Pirates games even after acquiring DirecTV which owns Root Sports, it may be time to switch.

You found something that works for you...awesome.
If the Pirates games are considered in your local market, as defined by MLB, then you would get their games if/when ROOT channels come back to AT&T. If you do not, then you would need the online MLB.tv package. No one knows when/if AT&T would carry MLB Extra Innings or Root Sports.
