Keep News 9 / News on 6 / CBS (Oklahoma)

Well, realize it's not really AT&T/U-verse that's "dumping" anything.  It's the local station ownership that's playing hardball and threatening to drop U-verse if they won't pay more for you to have that station, so be sure to contact them, too.  These contract disputes affect all service providers at varying times, not just U-verse, so switching providers won't help you.  Ask yourself why U-verse should have to pay anything to provide you with a station you can get over-the-air for free.  Crazy situation.   And the FCC is finally considering changing the laws so that providers like U-verse can carry an alternative network station when local stations get greedy.  

With the crazy prices we have to pay for U-Verse I would think they could afford to pay CBS. 

Perhaps, but that would more than likely result in a higher price in services for customers.

As a life-long Tulsan, my family and I have been faithful viewers of KOTV, Channel 6 in Tulsa for more than 60 years.  We depend on the News on 6 and CBS news for our local and national news and programming.  We switched from Cox cable to AT&T Uverse and internet service more than two years ago and have enjoyed our experience with AT&T.  However, we would never have changed to AT&T if we had know that KOTV Channel 6 would be removed from your program schedule.  I AT&T can't work something reasonable out with KOTV and Griffin Communications, and if KOTV and CBS are removed from our programming options, we will be rushing back to Cox Communications for television and internet service.  I know Cox has phone service too and we may consider that as well.  If we have to leave AT&T, we may also shop for another wireless service provider.  Please Keep KOTV Channel 6 and CBS on AT&T Uverse in Tulsa!

If CBS was not so greedy they would be no problem.

Where are these people getting  information that the contract talks with Griffin Communications also include DirectTV? I went to both websites (Channel 6 in Tulsa and Channel 9 in Oklahoma City), and saw nothing about contract talks between AT&T  regarding DirectTV  and Griffin Communications. I would guess that these people assume that since AT&T also owns DirectTV, then DirectTV  is also involved in the negotiations.

The funniest post I saw yesterday was from some woman who was urging AT&T to just accept Griffin Communications's asking price as is, no negotiations needed. I would assume when she buys a car, she only buys it at sticker price. When she buys a house, she  buys it only at the asking price.

Have  all of your friends and you call News 9 to urge Griffin Communications to ask for a fair carriage fee from AT&T. Tell Griffin Communications that not to be so greddy so that you can continue to watch News 9.

The current problem is greediness on the part of Griffin Communications, the owner of Channel 6 in Tulsa and Channel 9 in Oklahoma City. Call Channel 6 and 9 and urge them to tell Griffin Communications not to be so greedy.

If you lose Channel 6 in Tulsa, the blame will be with it's owner, Griffin Communications. Due to their greed by asking for a ridiculous amount of pay from AT&T, they will be responsible for you losing News 6.

Call Channel 6 along with your friends to tell them that their ownership is greedy, and you blame them for you losing Channel 6.

I hope you are also contacting that station to say the same to them since it is them asking more money from AT&T and them threatening to drop it from the lineup.
