Lack of new episodes

So many shows in TV are still running episodes which were produced as much as 14 years ago.  Why do I continue paying for this?  Why does my provider (Uverse) not insist on newer content from the channel owners? Why do the channel owners think its OK to create about 6 new episodes a year fao any one series and fill up the rest of the proram's schedule with old (or REALLY old) episodes?Considering that about 3/4 of the episodes I get on Uverse are older than 2 years old, I should be paying about 1/4 of what I'm paying.

DTV/AT&T can only provide what the channels give them so you need to contact the channels about their content.

AT&T and Uverse definitely SHOULD take the feedback from their customers to the channels to demand a better product. When I contact any of those channels, I am one guy. The channel owners will shrug it off. When AT&T/Uverse goes to the channel and says 'we have 20 million viewers who think your channel carries to much out of date programming and we think you might not be doing Uverse very much good.' it is going to have a much greater impact. The act that Uverse prefers not to carry this message to the channel owners simply says that Uverse cares no more about the viewers than do the channel owners.

Uhhhhh....you do understand that Uverse has NO control over content, right?  smh

Don't mess with old people.  The older we get, the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent.

Uverse has elected not to make any effort to influence content. Just like Ford has no control over the quality of oil filters, except that they can choose to procure their oil filters from a better supplier. Are you a Uverse employee?

The content providers packaged their programs,  the only choice that all providers like DTV AT&T have is with ones they want.

I do not believe that the content providers would ignore pressure from Uverse to provide better programming for very long. Detroit ignored pressure to improve their cars until Americans started choosing Japanese and European cars over American cars. Detroit took the position that no one could tell them how to build cars, but they got schooled on that subject. If Uverse were to convey to the content providers that the subscribers are unhappy with the products of the content provider, and they Uverse might cease to carry their products, it is ridiculous to think that the content providers would not respond in some fashion. I just don't believe that Uverse is making that effort.

Are you a Uverse employee? Otherwise, I cannot understand your defense of the lack of effort made by Uverse to improve the package.

Uverse has approximately 4.8m customers, No. 5 behind Comcast (22.4m), Direct (20.4), Charter (17.3) and Dish (13.5).

Perhaps numbers 1 through 4 should get together and tell the networks what to put on the air.  I don't think it works that way, though.

And as stated, all employees are identified with a banner but we do post a lovely fruit basket when someone believes otherwise.  This one's for you @shannon02 Smiley Wink

Uverse+Direct TV (one company, really) has 25.2m customers, making them No. 1. And you have not commented on any of the examples of how producers have responded to customer dissatisfaction to improve their products or why similar pressure would not be effective with the content producers. You seem very opposed to the idea that Uverse and AT&T should make an effort on their customers' behalf. I do not understand that position if you are another consumer.

Why are some of your posts showing up twice and only a second apart?  If there is an issue with these message boards it needs to be reported to the moderators.

That I do not know, but it is not causing me a problem. It may have something to do with the fact that I am replying through the email I get notifying me that I have had a response.
