Let's have the local feed for The Weather Channel please!
The Weather Channel App has always been slow and annoying to use (like all apps on a TV), but since it's been updated with no radar at all, it makes the national feed Weather Channel even less satisfying than the local feed that Time Warner analog used (and most cheap motel systems carry). I would rather wait for weather on the eights part of the time than scroll between temperatures for my saved locations (and have the timer collapse the app even though I'm actively scrolling). Accuweather radar is just too slow to load on the App, I might as well fire up an internet device.

This is the 21st century. You no longer have to sit in front of a TV for up to 10 minutes waiting to see local weather information. There are now so many faster and better sources for local weather information than what existed when the local on the 8's technology was created back in the early 1980's.

Does the Weather Channel even have weather reports anymore other than when there is the possiblity of dangerous or catastrophic weather? When that happens, your local channels will be much more beneficial.

If there's dangerous weather anywhere they break in and do live weather then. Then in many of the shows they still do weather on the 8s in the commercial breaks. I agree locals are a better source for anyone's local situation and hope anyone doesn't lose power.

I have to admit, I like the Local On The 8's - New to ATT and my previous provider offered the Local On The 8's and a Weather Scan channel - Both of which I like to take a look at while gettng ready in the morning. I personally don't want to pull up an app if I can get it on my television while doing other things. I really miss viewing the doppler before I walk out the door.
