Loss of channels
AT&T has failed to properly prepare for the anticipated end of contract negotiation with Nexstar - resulting in the loss of ABC station, a MAJOR network. This continues to happen, as in the past, when other channels were removed from the lineup - as your customers continue to pay increased costs in service. We set up another TV(purchased an antennae) that would give us this basic channel for the interim - assuming we will get the channel back at some time in the future! I think it's time to contact other providers who can provide continuing service that we PAY for and don't get with AT&T.

In addition to channel 1002 (a major nerwork), the removal of the NFL Network and Red Zone with no warning yet continued cost and no resolution in sight makes me want to go to another provider. I watch a total of 6 or 8 channels and now 3 of them are completely gone. I thought I'd stick it out until football season officially started, but you are saying it's no longer offered, so I'm planning on leaving. Why wait?

@DBR9133 - I doubt the FCC or the attorney general will care. Call the retentions office. They'll lower your bill.

We watch stations that have been discontinued by AT&T. Yes, if you go online there is a very silly corporate boilerplate explanation. But, The Main Thing is, we watch the effected stations, EVERY DAY! My wife has her recorded soaps, we both like many of the nightly broadcasts. 80% of the stations that we pay for, we NEVER watch! NEVER, let me say that again, NEVER! SO for DAYS, we have waited for this to be resolved, no info, no customer support, just a corporate line that its that other guy's fault. Will AT&T reimburse their very loyal customers that have been with them for over 12 years, in three different houses, plus the vacation home? I doubt it. If we can use what you sold us we should be compensated for the sham. One day I can get, two days, maybe but this is absolutely absurd. Of course, if you want to talk to a person, take a day off from work, cause Customer service is only available during the working day, God forbid, someone can help you when you're not making a living trying to pay the most extravagant cable and internet bill in the history of bundles! I'm gonna start looking at alternatives, like Netflix and Hulu! Listen up, AT&T, you're about to lose a great customer, Next stop, getting new cell phone service from anyone but you guys!

Nexstar/Deathstar: seems that GOV oversight is needed to keep TV thugs from putting babe in a corner. Someone promised me specific services for a specific compensation. Pls don’t be surprised when I demand a lower bill - you have failed to deliver on your promise. You failed to maintain a solid contract with deathstar. You either need to take the hit and reduce your overhead (not affecting me) to pay the increase or reduce my bill for not keeping your control with me because this is “no fault of the consumer - me. Now what I’m paying you is diluted into the absolute junk of infomercial and double and tripled displayed of junk that we don’t ever want to see. The person who is paying is generally the boss not the catcher!!!

AMEN! I'm so sick of this crap! If you only deliver a quarter of the bacon, you only get paid 25%. The stations effected we watch a great deal, If QVC was taken off the line up we wouldn't care one bit!

We are extremely unhappy about losing our Channel 10/CBS.
We had NO WARNING! I understand that upon request AT&T/DIRECTV will provide free of charge an antenna like device so we can continue to watch this local network. If this is true I am making this request.
I sincerely hope that you will not only provide it but also negotiate in good faith and bring back this channel! I am not sure that DIRECTV is completely blameless. Check Nexstar's site for announcement. Sounds like DIRECTV could have avoided this by agreeing to the extension offered by Nexstar?

Here we go again 😞
Realize that the corporation that owns the stations pulled your channel, not DirecTV. This is an all too common negotiating tactic used by these corporations to extort more money from TV service providers. None are immune, so even switching providers won't help.
You will need to use an off-air antenna until they allow DirecTV to provide them again. If you can receive the station with an off-air antenna, this is a good time to request DirecTV’s Local Channel Connector (if you have HR44/HR54). It’s free. And some folks are getting a credit on their account, too. Call DirecTV …. 1 800 531 5000
You'll also want to contact the corporation that owns these stations. Request that they allow DirecTV to continue carrying them while negotiations continue. And ask them why providers like Dish, DirecTV and Comcast must pay them anything when they get to use our public airwaves for FREE?!? After all, these service providers increase their overall viewership and advertising revenue. They're shooting themselves in the foot!
The FCC and Congress could easily fix this. Just allow service providers to deliver an out-of-area station when local stations get greedy. But I fear that the broadcast TV lobby is too powerful to ever let that happen.
Keep up on the latest updates at https://tvpromise.att.com/

The LCC device that adds local channels to the DTV guide hasn't been released to the public and there are posts here that DTV no longer has any to send but you can try calling/chatting.

who posted it had received one for the exact same reason that I'm
requesting it. CBS was 1 of our primary viewing channels. If DIRECTV
can't supply it then they have not provided the service that I signed up
for. If this is the case is DIRECTV willing to void my contract since they
haven't kept up their end of the deal? This is extremely upsetting. In the
future this incident will be seriously considered as a reason NOT to renew
my contract.

My question is, if I am not getting channels 4 and 23 any more why is my bill the same.I watch these channels all the time, I should just cancel my Direct TV and be done with these games that are being played not just by Direct, but by all of them.I am tired of paying for infomercials after infomercials. There are more commercials then there are shows, then there are infomercials during shows.Everyone should just unsubscribe to these companies and use free live streaming tv just to prove a point, without us they would be out of business. As a Republican, I choose not to watch CNN,MSNBC,ETC,or any shows that are bias against my country and my president ,these are the channels that I no longer want to pay for,not 4 and 23.

First you look off Pursuit.
Now there's a dispute with Nexstar so I don't have my local ABC channel. This issue needs to be fixed asap.

I asked about a discount and was told, by someone, who I'm not sure understood me or English to go to TV promise site. And she did not address my demand for a credit. If you go to ABC27 website, they said they offered to keep services going during this renegotiation, but Direct TV refused. So they are not working for us, as they claimed. And if they are not paying Nexstar, give us that money. It's ours.
