Loss of channels

AT&T has failed to properly prepare for the  anticipated end of contract negotiation with Nexstar - resulting in the loss of ABC station, a MAJOR network. This continues to happen, as in the past, when other channels were removed from the lineup - as your customers continue to pay increased costs in service. We set up another TV(purchased an antennae) that would give us this basic channel for the interim - assuming we will get the channel back at some time in the future!  I think it's time to contact other providers who can provide continuing service that we PAY for and don't get with AT&T.

What’s with the Nexstar disruption? Even though you mention channels are subject to change you offered customers the now blacked out channels. This constitutes an Implied Contract. You service is awful and now customers are missing out on local and national channels. It’s time to switch to a carrier that provides for and cares about its customers.

Ummm, no, it doesn't "constitute an Implied Contract".  But if you call DirecTV they might give you a credit for this outage .... 1 800 531 5000

Switching providers won't help. They all go through this BS.

Folks complain when local station owners pull their channels from providers like DirecTV demanding more money.
And folks complain that their subscription rates are too high.
So what are service providers like Dish, Comcast and DirecTV to do?

Here's a suggestion. File a complaint with the FCC. Ask that the FCC allow service providers to deliver another network station instead. That would stop this BS in a heartbeat. After all, these corporations get to use our public airwaves for FREE!

Directv has pulled the plug on our local NBC affiliate with no resolution in sight. Playing ego games at viewers expense. Shame on you.

It will return when NexStar allows DirecTV to provide it again.

You'll need to use an off-air antenna connected to your TV to receive your local NBC channel until this dispute is resolved.  You can also call DirecTV and get a free Local Channel Connector Kit to connect an off-air antenna to your HR44/HR54 Genie DVR.

How long are discussions going to last to return NBC to our channel lineup?  NBC is my primary source for news, morning programming and special events.  I am a relatively new customer to U-Verse TV and am ready to switch back to Spectrum.  When do I get a refund for the loss of NBC!!  I am VERY unhappy and disappointed with the U-Verse decision to take away from my channel just to fill your pockets at my expence!!!

Is AT&T going to honor our agreement to continue to provide agreed upon channels? I’ve lost NFL and NBA channels. Now I’ve lost local NBC. I missed seeing the British Open. If I lose one more station, I’m done with you!

Folks, it is time to look for other television options.  UVerse is unlikely to ever regain the channelsit has recently lost.  The Nexstar local channels, the CBS local channels, NFL Network, NFL RedZone and CBS Sports Network are gone forever from what I understand.  Also, the ACC Network will not be offered by UVerse and never will be.  There are other channel loses coming and those too will be permanent.  UVerse is a dinosaur.  And AT&T’s new pet TV provider, DirecTV is not much better as it is also losing numerous channels.   So take my advice.  First, get yourself a good quality outdoor OTA antenna.  That way you will receive ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, PBS and ll your other local channels free without any blackouts ever, as well as a slew of extra channels like Laff TV, Antenna TV, Decades, Cozi TV, etc. that UVerse is too stubborn and cheap to offer. Then subscribe to a streaming service like Fubo TV, PlayStation Vue, or Hulu.  Or so why I now do and subscribe to two of them to get maximum channels.   Hulu offers ll your premium movie channels.  They are the future.  UVerse is the past, a washed up has been.  But be careful choosing a streaming service.  The three I mentioned are the best as they never will lose channels.  Do not choose DirecTV now or Sling.  They are owned by AT&T And DISH respectively, who both do not care if there subscribers lose channels and go unreimbursed for the trouble.

If these trash bags keep “fighting for you” you won’t have any channels left.

I have had several alerts that KRON will be blocked for AT&T/U-verse customers.

IF, this is the case; I want to let the company know I’m not in favor of this removal of a part of my service plan which I’ve counted on for many years.

How should this this be handled going forward?
