Move Close caption location
How do you move the closed captions to the bottom of the screen?
Currently they are about 3/4 of the way down - it's blocking a lot. There's a good size gap between the bottom of the screen...which is good for the news but horrible for everything else.

I believe there is no control of the positioning. It is really a poor implementation by todays standards. It needs a larger, more pleasing display on a second screen.
I think a crawl would be much more readable. If it could be positioned as needed for each program. Or, available on a display bar.
I suppose there is no development because there is no way to make a fortune.

It's like that on most providers, anywhere I see TVs w/CC on, it's about 2/3-3/4 of the way down the screen. 😉

Apparently,we deaf or slightly deaf people should get some TV ears and leave CC. I believe we have no control over position. I have Dish system at one home and Uverse at the second. Here is a sample show "Last man standing". Dish switches between bottom to top left. Uverse switches between bottom and absolutely right over people's faces, which annoys the heck out of me. So far that's about all I have. just one of the many irritating features with uverse.

I can imagine that the CC and content picture are in conflict on a single screen.
TVs are really inexpensive. Probably less at a pawn shop or thrift store.
You can connect a second TV via component, composite, s-video or COAX and use the CC feature of the second TV. Perhaps even adjust the picture to minimize content.
Turn off the CC in the U-verse STB. If you are currently using an HD aspect, you will have to change it to SD widescreen.

Previous poster resurrected this somewhat old thread. So I'll add my 2 cents by mentioning that you can move the CC (slightly?) down on the screen if you use your uverse remote to press menu -> options -> system -> closed captioning. In there set digital closed captioning off and make sure standard closed captioning is option 1.
