Negotiations with WISH TV - Channel 8 in Indianapolis

I see where AT&T is almost bragging about efforts to help combat the COVID-19 crisis - yet here in Indianapolis the U-verse and DirectTV subscribers are unable to get LOCAL news and updates to address the virus from WISH TV because AT&T has refused to continue negotiations with Circle City Broadcasting. Circle City blocked AT&T from broadcasting their local line-up because AT&T failed four times to negotiate at all. So we Indianapolis U-verse and DirectTV subscribers can't obtain a critical source of local news during this crisis. Sounds like AT&T (and Circle City Broadcasting) really do NOT have their customers' needs in mind during this crisis. The transparency to get to management at either AT&T and/or Circle City is non-existent - hence this post. COME ON AT&T and CIRCLE CITY BROADCASTING, put the all mighty dollar on the sideline and get us Indianapolis customers access to our LOCAL channel.

You only have ONE local station? I would have thought in a city the size of Indianapolis, you would have had more.

WISH TV Channel 8 in Indianapolis is the ONLY locally owned TV broadcaster in the city of Indianapolis so offers a better local view of our LOCAL Indianapolis issues - including many additional hours of LOCAL news and specials. During this COVID-19 crisis we're blocked from this view on U-verse and DirectTV (nor have our rates changed due to this inability to view our Local channel),

But you do have local network affiliates (ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox) that have local newscasts, right?

I guess I just don't understand the distinction. I'm in the Dallas area and I don't know that any of our LOCAL stations are privately owned. They are all owned by different big media companies and I've never thought my life was in danger because of the content of their news programming. *shrug*

Don't mess with old people.  The older we get, the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent.

Well, that's unfortunate that you folks in Dallas have already lost all of your LOCAL TV stations and can only rely on syndicated national news. Our local TV station offers almost double the coverage of local news than our scripted NBC, CBS, ABC and FOX offerings. Plus AT&T U-verse doesn't offer a rebate since they aren't offering all the channels they should.

@ATandTRetired We have WFAA (ABC), KDFW (Fox), KXAS (NBC) and KTVT (CBS). These are all our local affiliates and each has a LOCAL news broadcasts with LOCAL on air personalities who live in the Metroplex.

KDFW has 6 hours of local news every morning: 4am to 10am every day.

I guess I'm just not understanding the issue.

Okay, assume your KDFW (who I wouldn't consider local because they are a FOX affiliate) who does the best local reporting is no longer available for you to view on your U-verse and all you see is a blue screen when you attempt to tune in. THAT is an issue - especially when it is supposed to be included in what you pay for U-verse. And it's been that way for 2 MONTHS - and no one can address the negotiations - that IS an issue for me as an AT&T U-verse subscriber!
