NFL Network & RedZone are gone

Can anyone, preferably from AT&T, tell me if NFL Network & RedZone are no longer being carried on U-verse? At 4:15pm today I tried to go to channels 1629 & 1630, but what I saw was a message saying “This channel is no longer carried” and there was a reference to TVpromise.org. First time I’ve ever seen that message. To me, that isn’t just that the NFL Network is offline with broadcast issues. It’s that U-verse has dropped those two channels. Anyone else have this issue or heard anything about it?

I’m not convinced that ATT even looks at these posts. I asked earlier in this post for a current customer retention phone #, and there has been no response.

I wonder if I just stopped paying my DIRECT TV BILL and told AT&T “sorry for the inconvenience” how long it would take for them drop MY services???. I guarantee you not long at all. So I just spoke to COMCAST and was offered a great deal that INCLUDES the NFL NETWORK thats gonna cost a little LESS than what I was paying for DIRECT TV. So after I send this post I’m dropping AT&T and they will never hear from me again. I suggest y’all do the same the NFL DRAFT is only one week away!! SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE AT&T.....

Yours truly,
Robert 47 year NFL Football fan in Texas!!!!!

AT&T has found itself in another carriage spat, this time with the NFL, dropping the league-owned NFL Network and RedZone channel from its U-verse and DirecTV Now services.

“We have a long history of working with our distribution partners to come to fair agreements. That said, in order to come to an agreement there must be a willingness to communicate, to exchange proposals, to sit down and negotiate,” an NFL Networks spokesperson said in a statement. “Unfortunately, as it pertains to AT&T, we never heard a word from them until NFL Network and NFL RedZone were pulled from the AT&T U-Verse and DTV Now services.”

NFL Network is still available to subscribers of DirecTV’s regular television service — DTV Now is the company’s streaming package.

AT&T’s decision to drop the channels comes as the league is considering putting an end to DirecTV’s exclusive’s rights to its Sunday Ticket package, which offers subscribers the ability to watch out-of-market games during the season. Sunday Ticket has been exclusive to DirecTV customers for the past 25 years. Although the current deal between the AT&T-owned company and the NFL runs through the 2023 season, the league has an opt-out after the 2019 season.

“We’ve had a 25-year partnership and we want to continue that partnership, but we also are looking to see how we can change the delivery,” NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said in an interview last month with Bloomberg. “We want it delivered on several different platforms.”

The blackout also comes ahead of next week’s NFL Draft, which will have 77 hours of live coverage of NFL Network. Both ESPN and ABC will also air the draft in its entirety from April 25-27.

I wonder if one of the sticking points was the level of  carriage, as uverse carries it on the u-200,  the basic tier where on spectrum it is not carried on the lowest tier, it is carried on the middle tier. Maybe uverse wanted to carry it on the u300 tier like basketball and baseball and the nfl network refused

This is why I’m going to a streaming service (Playstation Vue). Having to put up with this and you are stuck in a contract. If you break the contract, you’re penalized. At least with a streaming service, if the channels you want are not available anymore, you can leave, no questions asked!!! SMH!

This is a peer-to-peer forum. There are maybe two or three employees who read here and their accounts are marked as employees. Cal 1-800-288-2020 and ask for retentions.

I have already posted once on here, but just to get out my anger, I am posting again. It seems like Uverse customer's are pawns in the NFL Direct TV business. Shame on Uverse, as the customer should be the most important thing for a company. They are going to lose a lot of customers, who pay at least $2000.00 a year for the cable/internet service. That is great business practice. I missed the NFL draft schedule release on NFL Network (yes - it was on ESPN2), but now I can't watch Path to the Draft, leading up to the draft and then the draft itself on NFL Network, which it superior to ESPN coverage in my opinion. Or I will switch back and forth to see both channels coverage. I saw that week sixteen is a three game slate ONLY on NFL Network. If they don't get it back soon, I will be switching to Xfinity, who has the NFL Network. I have already been doing my homework and chatted three times to get more information. It's just a matter of when I switch. Uverse raises the rates once or twice a year, with no decent channels added to warrant a price increase and then takes away a channel RIGHT before a huge event will be on that channel.

I dont see my bill going down through.  You are not offering channels i signed up for.

Maybe you should air what the customer wants and not what you think we need.

When you loose your customers to Amazon maybe you will understand.

U-Verse raises rates once per year. Any other raise is most likely a promotion falling off.

When I had TW (since bought out by Charter), they raised rates like clockwork.
